The Markthaus is a historic gem and is a listed building, designated as the first hostel in Saxon Switzerland. The house frames the market square in the reflection of the market church below the castle ruin on the romantic Malerweg. The vaulted cellar and foundation walls date back to 1527. The main house was built in 1734 and operated as a rest stop, post office and inn. In 1850, a massive extension was built in the classicist style. Röhringer ran the Hotel Sächsische Schweiz here.

Our house is a 270-year-old timber-framed house that we have lovingly renovated and remodeled. As far as possible, we have preserved or restored the old wooden floorboards or wooden framework. Our garden is designed in such a way that living beings that are native there can still feel comfortable, such as salamanders, hedgehogs, fireflies, kingfishers and wild bees. Anyone who stays in the garden for a long time can observe these many rare inhabitants in our garden.

Our house with 2 apartments is located on a 2000 sqm property in a quiet location on the edge of the forest, directly on the famous Malerweg. In about 600 m you can reach the Elbe cycle path, the ferry dock, the adventure pool and restaurants. Good starting point for hiking, biking, as well as for visits to castles and palaces as well as sights. The S-Bahn station "Stadt Wehlen" is about 500 m away. From here you can reach the cultural city of Dresden in 30 minutes.

A comfortable and family-friendly apartment with kitchen, bedroom and shower and toilet awaits you. The apartment can accommodate 2 people. In addition, there are 2 extra bed options. A travel cot for infants is available. The rooms are painted with natural colours and the wooden floors are treated with natural wax and are therefore particularly suitable for allergy sufferers. There are plenty of climbing and hiking opportunities in the area. Please note that there is no Wi-Fi in the cottage.

Our shepherd's wagon is located on our Kraxlerhof, in the middle of Saxon Switzerland overlooking the Ochelwände. With a lot of love, we have now completed our shepherd's wagon at the end of July 2022 for up to two people. All hiking destinations are easily accessible from our farm. We are happy to give you interesting excursion tips around the hiking region of Saxon Switzerland.
