We are located in the hills of central VT, close to good hiking, skiing and swimming. Our place is a working permaculture homestead/farm. Unwind in the traditional Finnish Sauna, relax by the living pool, or kick back in an Adirondack chair looking out at the hills of VT. No cleaning fee! This is one of three listings at our place. We can accommodate groups of four by booking: ( Upper Yurt Stay on VT Small Farm )

The space
We will walk you down to your yurt and give you a quick tour of our farm. This yurt is located on the lower part of our farm, although the distance is a mere 300 yards, it is a short yet significant hike down a steep maintained trail. The trail is lit with LED pathway lights to get you to and from the upper farm at night. (In winter this trail can be more difficult be sure to inquire when booking) It has a more secluded and remote feel of the two yurts. There is a stream at the bottom of our property and you can listen to it as you fall asleep! It is a nice 14 ft custom made yurt with a four season insulation kit. There is a wood stove that heats the yurt. If you are unfamiliar with making fires in a wood stove, we will gladly set up and little "workshop" to ensure you can make a good fire in your stove. We provide firewood from Nov. 1st through April 1st. Outside of those dates, we can help you find a firewood/campwood source. There is a double bed with a memory foam topper. We provide complementary tea and coffee and drinking water. There is a double burner propane cook top to prepare food. The little kitchen is stocked with pots pans flatware, and cutlery. There is a cooler in your yurt to keep food and drinks. During the spring, summer and fall, there is cold running water right at the yurt and an outhouse/composting toilet located directly behind the yurt. WINTER ACCESS: The trail to the yurt can usually be boot packed. Check in with trail conditions before arrival. Sometimes micro spikes are necessary. Winter guests will arrive to a fire going.

Guest access
We would like our guests to experience the farm and have a taste of living in alternative housing situations. You are welcome to swim in the clothing optional living pool anytime. It is a shared space with family, and the other yurt and tipi. If you choose to go night swimming please do so quietly. There is a three season outdoor shower located near the living pool and sauna for guest clean up and it provides a liberating experience. Guest have access to the sauna with advanced notice (it's wood fired and we need time to heat it up for you). We will provide you with a refreshing chilled herbal drink for fluid replacement and give you a small tutorial on traditional sauna (as we have many North American misconceptions).
The cowboy is available anytime, on a bring your own firewood. You are also welcome to forage through the forest for dry firewood.
The farm provides extra garden produce that we can help pick your own. Raw milk is available seasonal, as well as pick your own raspberries, black berries, and wild apples. Activities vary depending on the day or season. Check in with specific interests in the farm activities as they vary.

Other things to note
-Our property is very private. Going clothes free in and around the living pool, at the cowboy hot tub and in the sauna is the norm for our family, and we invite guest to enjoy the same freedom. It is a very beautiful freedom we have here. We will be sure everyone is comfortable, as we work on creating and protecting a free body culture.
- As of October 2015, Airbnb will be collecting the %9 Vermont Rooms and Meals tax from guest.

I am an artist gone farmer and back. My wife, son and new baby and I are living on 10 beautiful acres. We are all foodies for sure, and enjoy all the land is providing for us. My hope is to develop a stunning edible ecological landscape and provide and share, an example of how humans can positively effect the planet.
