Castledown 19 is an attached, 385 SQ’ studio about 400’ from the shore of Peninsula Lake. In the bedroom you will find one queen bed, and in the living room is a sofa bed looking out the bay window. There is a combined sitting-dining area beside the kitchenette, which has a bar size fridge, stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker and satellite TV. It is middle of 3 units, each with its’ own patio and chairs.

The space
Located on the beautiful grounds of Tally Ho Inn, just 10 minutes from Huntsville. Each unit has its' own unique view of Peninsula Lake. We are in between Arrowhead Provincial Park, Algonquin Park & Limberlost Wildlife Reserve. There is a public boat launch located just beside the property and free docking at the resort for guests.

In the Lodge you will find a games room with a pool table and 2 ping pong tables, lending library and baby grand piano. Outside activities include, but are not limited to, tennis, shuffleboard and basketball courts and a volleyball net by the lake.

We are a pet friendly resort. We now have a dog park [We restrict the right to close park due to conditions] Agreement must be signed on arrival. The cost is $25.00 + HST per pet/per stay.

Gas BBQ’s are available for rent for $10/day + HST, to a maximum of $40/week + HST.

A Continental breakfast is served daily for $5.00[per person] from 8:30-9:30 AM. Subject to availability.

Peninsula Lake is connected to 3 other lakes, Fairy, Vernon and Mary Lake.
Guests can enjoy 1300 feet of sandy shoreline on Pen Lake. The water is clear and shallow, making it perfect for small children.
There is a public fire pit down by the water’s edge, stocked full of wood during the summer.

Games room is open during Main Lodge hours.

Outdoor equipment can be signed out from the Main lodge, front desk

Guests have complimentary access to all outdoor equipment, including a selection of water-crafts [canoes, kayaks, peddle boats and paddle boards]

In the winter, weather permitting, there is ice skating on the lake. Please note, skates are not provided. Snowshoes are available to rent at the front desk, no additional cost.

Dog park available depending on the conditions of the park.

Other things to note
The tap water come from a freshwater well that is tested regularly.
We provide all bedding and bath towels. Please bring your own beach towels for use outside of the cabins.
Fishing is allowed on the lake, with a valid fishing permit/license.
Laundry facilities are available in the Lodge. [charges apply]

Closest Restaurant: Muskoka on the Rocks is located just across the street, within 500 metres of the resort. They offer delicious pub food as well as meals.
Huntsville: The Town of Huntsville is a short 15-minute drive away. It has a beautiful downtown strip, well worth the visit. There is a movie theatre, shopping and dining.
Algonquin Park: This national park is located 35 km from the resort, and it stretches out over 7725 square kilometres of lakes, rivers, hills and forests.
Ragged Falls: A perfect, scenic view of over 400 feet of water and rapids. This small hike is 20 kilometres East of the resort on HWY 60, heading towards Algonquin Park.
Limberlost Hiking Trails: This is one of Muskoka’s best kept secrets! It is free to the public and offers gorgeous walking trails. It is located 8 kilometres from the resort.
Golfing: We are located near several golf courses in the immediate area- Grandview, Deerhurst, Lakeside, Highlands and Huntsville Downs.
Driving Range: Friendly Acres- within walking distance, straight across the road.,
Treetop Trekking: Many innovative activities in the trees, zip lines, suspended bridges, Tarzan ropes and more! Beginner, advanced and expert courses as well as special courses for kids.
Bring your skates!
Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area is a 5-minute drive from the resort. It offers 11 runs from beginner to expert. Night skiing is available on Thursdays-Saturdays. Snowboard and ski rentals are available on the hill. Guests of our resort receive a discount.
Arrowhead Park: Cross country skiing, tubing, snowshoeing and a beautiful 1.3-kilometre-long outdoor skating trail.
Snowmobiling: Trail # 77 goes through the resort’s property. Algonquin Snowmobile Club grooms and maintains almost 300 kilometres of trails and access to these are available by the lake when staked.

During your stay
The Main Lodge has friendly staff working during the day to assist your during your stay.
There is maintenance staff that looks after the grounds that can attend to any issue you may be having in your cottage.
Weekly Stays will get Housekeeping one time thru the week.
There is staff available after hours for emergencies as someone is always on site. The contact number is located in the lobby of the main lodge.
Guests can pick up their key at the front desk in the Lodge. If you plan to arrive after office hours, arrangements can easily be made to accommodate you.
If you are looking for local activities or sites, you will find info in the foyer which can be accessed 24/7. It provides flyers for events and, local places of interest, Algonquin and Arrowhead Provincial Park, Huntsville, art studios, golf, hiking, biking, dining, parks and lakes.
