The space

Enjoy a week in paradise in our modern private screen house floating in the embrace of three spectacular monkeypod trees (‘ohai in Hawaiian). Located 45 minutes south of Hilo in the Puna district (we also call ourselves "punatreehouse") Hale ‘Ohai is an elegant sanctuary, a place to rest and reflect, a place to gather for special occasions, a place from which to explore and discover The Big Island of Hawaii. Our stay at Lavaflow was wonderful; the architecture and surrounding nature made the stay extremely pleasant. We had a gecko in company almost every morning; they were super adorable. The only downside we would say is that, given Hilo is almost always raining, prepare yourselves …

The monkeypod house was a wonderful retreat. Right on the coast in the Puna district, the house itself is fully surrounded by so many lovely plans and the frogs singing at night. It's really tucked away so if your plan is to disassociate from the world, this is the place! It's a …
