The Orient is a great carriage beautifully finished with Rosewood Walls and Jarrah furniture made by a top marine cabinet maker. There are two compartments each with a double bed built in with the original train seats opposite . Rosewood walls and Gorgeous Jarrah furniture

The space

This is a 1905 R Carriage that has been restored back to old world class. The Rosewood walls and Jarrah furniture was made by a top marine cabinetmaker. The Rosewood came from the New Parliament house where the Politians went to light to dark so the marine cabinet maker got it

We loved the charm and the experience of the train car! The property was quiet even with a few other guests on site. The accommodation is unique and absolutely charming. We found it quite enough for two people but originally planned a third but I'd say two couples is spot on. The beds are comfy and the heating is ample. The bathroom was decent sized for a train and everything was well maintained and clean. I'd say if you like a place with character to add to the experience this is a wonderful alternative to a big hotel or your standard bnb. Kitchen is tidy, small and clean but there's space for some light cooking and coffee/tea. We had less than ideal weather so we found a few wines around the table and some ABC drama was enough to keep us engaged. There is no nightlife to be found but a taxi ride into town is a bit dear... I'd say the location is good for your wine country daytime fun and a comfy sleep overnight. I'd stay again if the occasion came up.

Ended up in an alternative accomodation due to a booking mix up but would love to come back and try and stay next time we're coming to the Hunter.

I loved the peaceful bush setting of Krinklewood. The best part is that you're far enough away from the main roads that there's no traffic noise, which is the problem with a lot of other places which aim more to catch the passing market. The bedrooms and bathroom are very spacious compared with most other train carriages I have stayed in over the years, and the beautiful timberwork used in the restoration of the Orient carriage is worth appreciating.

Lovely spot very close to some great restaurants and vineyards. Lots of love has obviously gone into the carriages, such a unique place to stay. Marie was a wonderful host!

Great location. Great place to stay - a lot of mosquitos so bring your spray and beds can be a little small for a couple but apart from that we had a lovely stay here! Was great staying the night in a train!

The train carriage is something interesting and different. Very comfortable. Marie was very nice and helpful. Location was great for exploring the wineries. It looked like there was a bike hire place next door as well. I would definitely recommend staying at Marie's train carriages.
