Surrounded by high moor, yet just 20mins from the A38, Wydemeet offers spacious, light-drenched, luxurious rooms; peace, seclusion and comfort. All you will hear is the trickling of the river, and a neigh from the wild ponies just outside the gate!
Miles of bridleways and footpaths stretch in every direction from our garden gate. Acres and acres of open-access land, with myriad archaeological and geological features and local legends to explore.
Sumptuous, elegant, and stylish, just refurbished by local interior designers 'Artists and Artisans', no expense spared, our look is described as 'Jane Austen Romantic' in keeping with our beautiful home.
Spacious luxurious double-aspect room. Indulge! Evening sunshine filters through the leaves of the trees outside the new sash windows, which have views right across to Bellever Tor. A top-of-the-range 6' Vispring Herald bed, made into twins if you prefer, with medium pocket sprung mattress and divan, electric blanket, thick crumply duvet and luscious pillows, luxurious throws and cushions - you won't want to get out in the morning!
Breathtaking views of garden, moorland, trees and fields beyond.
The bathroom, traditionally the 'coffin room' at the top of the stairs in the middle of the house, is arguably the best room of all, and we debated long and hard before sacrificing the original child's bedroom to create this lovely room. Filled with sunshine, you can lie in the bath, or sit on the loo, and gaze out at all of nature through the huge sash window, in complete privacy!
Egyptian cotton bed linen; thick, soft, fluffy, warm towels and bath robes, heavy curtains, deep window-seats and luxurious deep-pile carpet. Antique furniture, original oils, large Freesat TV, period fireplace.
Proper coffee, fresh milk, variety of teas, spring water, The White Company 'flowers' toiletries.
Retire, and wake up to total peace and silence - just the natural sounds of the countryside.
We only let out the two best rooms in our comfortable, large family home, so more often than not, it's just you! Guests are encouraged to wander in, out and around at will, and use the house as they would their own home. We have lived here for twenty years, so are very much part of the local community and familiar with the local area.
Interaction with guests
Breakfast is served in our elegant south-facing dining room, with views across the hot-tub and garden to the moor beyond.
The only house rule we have is that you must have a lovely time!
Oh and a second one is that we don't normally serve breakfast until after 9.00 am. But after that you can have it anytime you like! Come down in your pyjamas and go back to bed for the rest of the day if that's what floats your boat!
Nice, clean, well-behaved dogs allowed, provided they're happy to sleep quietly in the downstairs hall with our little pooch, behind a baby-gate.
