3 bedroom Mexican-inspired log cabin nestled in the heart of Smiths Lake, NSW. The cabin backs onto a national park for the ultimate privacy. Log fire plus a large entertaining area. Just a short walk to the lake or short drive to NSW's best surf beaches.

This cabin is rustic. Think beach shack meets bush cabin! Please stay with us if you love nature and switching off. It's not for humans that froth more on mod cons, wifi, fancy TV's over stars and a crackling fire.

The space
CASA DEL CASSON

Come and relax in this Mexican-inspired cedar log home.

This 3-bedroom cabin is surrounded by a tropical rainforest reserve for the ultimate in holiday privacy.

It’s exceptionally clean, comfortable and cosy.

The property has just been freshly renovated and modernised including a new kitchen with stainless steel appliances, new bathroom vanity and tapware and new timber floors. The cabin has a log fire and new glass skylights to let the light in, all year round.

Fully furnished with w/machine, dryer, 40inch TV, DVD, gas BBQ, toilet, log fire and reverse cycle air-conditioner/heater.

The house has two queen sized beds and the third bedroom has two single beds.

200m stroll to the sandy beaches and clear waters of Smiths Lake & the boatshed cafe.

Close to local shops, which includes a gourmet café, butcher, baker, bottle shop and general store.

The cabin is dog friendly, with plenty of places for your pet to roam free, but please keep in mind that the property is surrounded by wilderness.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU GET HERE

If you've been to the area before, you'll know that it boasts some of the best surf in Australia.

If you haven't, well you'll never want to leave.

Beaches are within a 5 - 10 minute drive which include Cellito, Boomerang, Blueys and Elizabeth (patrolled, and good for kids). Local lakes are ideal for swimming with young children, with shallow clear water.

Seal Rocks is 20 minutes drive away - head up to the lighthouse for great views, and whale watching (in season). Or surf at Treachery and Lighthouse beach. Forster is approximately 20 minutes drive, which has the usual supermarkets and various retailers.

Smiths Lake village has a butcher, baker, village shop and the Lakes Cafe, which does a great coffee. The village shop is great for renting DVD's.

There is aslo a short 9-hole golf course nearby, as well as 18 hole courses at Forster. There's a local winery, tennis courts at Pacific Palms and ample bush walks. Kayaks and small boats can also be hired from the Frothy Coffee Cafe 200 metres down the road.

For dinner or drinks head to 'The Reccie' or ‘The Bowlo’ or fire up the barbie in the backyard.

If you love surf, sun and solace, you'll love Smiths Lake.

Guest access
You have access to the entire property. Enjoy.

Other things to note
We provide all the linen and the towels for your stay which is included in the price.

There is also a few kitchen/bathroom basics like toilet paper and soap to get you started. We offer firewood and gas in the BBQ for outdoor bbq's. Spare firewood in the garage.

We do not offer WIFI in anyway. The cabin is about switching off. Not plugging in.

There are sheer curtains in bedrooms which we love as it lets dappled light filter in. Others may prefer complete block out. There are no curtains in the main rooms as it backs onto national park. You can't see any neighbours but some people might like full disclosure.

Our cabin is vintage rustic for that quintessential sandy beach holiday. If you like mod cons or fancy screens please opt for another venue. It's clean and well maintained and on average costs $40pp a night (linen and towels included).

Casa Del Casson is not a person - it's a log cabin. And this little gem is owned by four Sydney-siders, who wanted to spend more time in one of their favourite spots in NSW. Whether you're chilling in the rainforest backyard or surfing the back beaches, once you've stayed in Casa Del Casson you'll understand why we invested in this little piece of paradise. But what we love the most is renting it out to other likeminded individuals, so they can enjoy one of the best kept secrets on NSW Central Coast.
