Our beautiful house, built in 1851, is in the historic district of Martinsburg, was a parsonage through 3 generations, and has plenty of old world charm. We are 20 mi from historic Harpers Ferry, WV and 75 mi from Washington, DC. Shepherdstown, the home of Shepherd University, and the oldest town in WV, is 5 mi away. The Marc/Amtrac train station is 4 blocks away and has commuter fares for 2 departures to DC in the morning and returning early evening. "other things to note" below.

The space

Your room is the middle room of four bedrooms and is very spacious. There are no kitchen privileges, but you have a microwave and refrigerator. There is internet access, and the only TV is just DVD rental for $1.50 per movie. It also has a desk. I have another room listed as Sandra Roberts Rental Room 2 that has a queen size bed and a larger refrigerator. There are plenty of nice places to eat within two and three blocks.

Sandra's place provided me everything I needed after a multiple hour flight and subsequent wedding in the area. I was looking for a nice place to say in Martinsburg that I could get a good sleep in before heading north on 81 to Pennsylvania. This was the perfect place! The location was easy to find, quiet, fairly priced and the house was warm and welcoming. Sandra was more than accommodating with my late check in after the wedding. It was just an ideal airbnb experience and highly recommend the stay!

Sandra is a wonderful host that goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. I stay at her place while out of town working midnight shift and she even makes the room as dark as possible so I sleep better during the day. This was my first experience using AirBnB so I was a little nervous at first, but Sandra made the experience a great one with her good communication and hospitality.

Sandra is a total gem, as is her magical older Martinsburg house. It is Stately and cozy all at once, and she is so welcoming and warm. Had fun talks with her, and she went out of her way for late arrival, and extended stay! She helped me shift a table into the room that better met some work needs and was all around such a fabulous hostess. I felt very much welcomed, and at home. Highly recommended! thank you so much, Sandra!

I am retired from civil service. I went through my bucket list that did not include traveling but taking piano, voice, painting, buying and selling property, and renting out property lessons. Last year I bought a timeshare and then joined a travel club. I took eight trips including a 14-day trip to Playa del Carmen and Cancun. From now on I will be traveling through AirBnb because it is the best.
