Looking for a quiet getaway? This adorable, 1 room casita is a 2 minute walk to the Pecos River (this walk-in the summer has tall grasses to walk through) and just a short drive away from many trails and fishing spots in the Pecos Wilderness Area. The small Casita has many windows. It is 30 m from Santa Fe. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE DESCRIPTION of this listing to ensure an accurate understanding, especially related to the neighborhood and town of Pecos, NM, and also the kitchen which is limited.

The space
This is a small studio space, well lit, with a fridge, toaster oven, hot-plate and other kitchen amenities. The main bed is a full/double size bed. (picture of bed shows single bed, need to take new picture of the new full size bed!)The fold down futon is a twin size bed. So three people can sleep in the casita but it is best for 1-2 people for sure. There is NO TV. You may NOT get cell phone service here. Verizon is sometimes ok, but other carriers will probably not get phone service here. There is wifi that works fast so WhatsApp or Skype could work for calls.
The kitchen area is TINY and limited. No microwave, but a brand new toaster oven, a hot plate and also a single electric burner with a small cooking pot. All items are located inside the stainless steel cabinet.

Guest access
Guests can park in my driveway. The driveway is a bit steep, uneven and narrow so four-wheel-drive or at least cars with a bit of a raised undercarriage are recommended. If you have a small Rent-A-Car it is best to park in the street. ) Guests can lounge in the grassy front yard.

Other things to note
The casita is located in the country! You might see a spider or a bug! This is a normal part of living in a rural community in the mountains. There is absolutely no reason to pretend the casita is something is isn't! This is a small, country casita. As some reviews put it..... "no frills" "cozy"
"Everything you need, but just the basics"

The street is a quiet residential area. The casita is enclosed inside a fenced in yard. You can walk to the river in three minutes. The neighborhood is a classic, Norteño culture. There is also a mix of socioeconomic classes here, so you will see some beautiful, fancy adobe houses (like mine) and you will also see trailers and lower income housing. For out of staters.... especially Texans, please note that Pecos is NOT Santa Fe! Santa Fe is like the New York of New Mexico. (I'm originally from NY) Pecos is a way more traditional New Mexican type of town. There are very few amenities, 2 gas stations, a couple restaurants, 2 dollar stores, and a Dairy Queen! The rest is river and wilderness.

I have a small school in Santa Fe so I commute daily from Pecos to Santa Fe during the week. I have two great cats and love my house near the river!
