Michele was great- she let me stay a couple of extra nights (at cost of course) since I came in on exchange and was on a hunt for a more permanent living situation. She gave me some great tips and her dog was a nice bonus since I was starting to feel homesick and I am used to hav…
Response from Michele:
Hi Arielle I am very sorry to hear you were uncomfortable with the shared bathroom. Yes, I do try and minimise the overlaps of the booked rooms and the other guest had booked for 2 weeks prior to your booking of 3 days. I have already discounted the rooms since I opened the 2 of them up with a potential shared bathroom, and I am sorry if the toilet at times was not clean with that situation. I do have a 2nd one downstairs to compensate the sharing upstairs. Unfortunately with the heat Brisbane experienced, the other guest did not do as many day trips as planned. Again, I am very sorry you were uncomfortable. I did enjoy hosting you. Michele
Fun, friendly, laid-back apartment conveniently located a very short walk to West End.
Michelle was helpful with her communication. The place is in a central but quiet place. The photos are deceptive as to the quality of the house and rooms.

I am very sorry you felt that way Deb - I do clean my house thoroughly prior to guests checking in, and do maintain daily. Unfortunately in a home, people use the fridge and yes, although I leave a "clean" shelf empty for my guests, there are my own items filling the rest up. As I said to you, I appreciate you found the bed to soft, but then other guests have commented how comfortable it is - cannot please the whole population I guess. Good luck to you, maybe next time you will believe me when I told you on your enquiry "I do not think my place is suitable for you".
I have never left a less than glowing review about a host or an Airbnb experience. But there was a bit to be desired here. The lodging arrangements were not as advertised (nowhere did there mention other guests or a shared bathroom), and the ad also boasts a "serene" room, which …

Tara - I had hoped you would have walked away, got over your jet lag and been reasonable instead of putting such comments on my site, which are not a true reflection of the events. Even though I have a "strict" refund policy and a minimum of 2 nights - I did refund to you - take it up with Airbnb on them keeping their own fees from your refund - which they clearly state they will do on their website. 1. I live in a narrow dead end street with a shared driveway that 2 - 3 other residents use. Hardly a peak hour traffic jam as you indicated in your text message to me around 6pm on Sunday. 2. As confirmed by all my other review comments - most consider my place a quiet location, but yes, sometimes neighbours come home at the end of the day. 3. The text message you sent to me and the discussion in the morning was all regarding the "noise", never once did you comment on cleanness or towels. All of your towels were fresh out of the wash that day. 5. Although I do try and respond immediately to enquires from my guests, I do unfortunately have a private life myself and at times cannot immediately respond. Given the context of "peak hour traffic on my driveway at 6pm on a Sunday", I did not appreciate the urgency, knowing at most there would have been 3 cars. 6. The photos you sent the next morning clearly showed the bath mat folded still on the side of the bath in the first photo - where I had put it clean the afternoon of your check in. Your second photo showed the bath mat on the floor with water around it - only the photographer could have changed the props. I am disappointed in Airbnb appearing one sided on these issues. 6. My description of the house I felt described 3 bedrooms of which I use one and the one guest bathroom. Other Review comments show I do have overlaps on both rooms being rented at times, although I try and avoid that on most occasions. I have re-worded the description though as clearly not everyone comprehended the description. I hope you did find a more commercial property to stay - clearly the original purpose of Airbnb was for travellers to have the opportunity in staying at people's own homes, experiencing the local environment. I do try and provide that but obviously, although the house was cleaned within an hour of your check in - I am sorry I was not there to immediately pick up a hair dropped in the bathroom afterwards. Trust me, it would have been cleaned the next day though as I do do daily maintenance during my guests stay. I am happy that all my other guests over the years I have been doing this have appreciated my space, the quietness and commented on the cleanness of the home, even though I do live here to as my "Home".
I am a very quiet, professional person who has travelled considerably and now sitting back and making a home. My close companion is never far away, 4 legged and furry, quiet, loyal, sociable and very laid back. He welcomes all new people to come and share is house, asks fo…
