Self check-inEasily check yourself in with the lockbox.

***The cost is so low because I use the room occasionally (1-4 X month) during the day for video or in-person counseling sessions*** .

Check with me about longer stays--the space may be available. Because I share a bathroom with the guest, I prefer to rent only to women, as this feels most comfortable to me.

I will communicate with you about schedule, so you will not be surprised :-). If you are away during the day, this can be a perfect deal for you.

My stay at Jill's place was pleasant and easy. The house is nice, in a quiet are. The people in it were friendly but I found it easy to have time to myself. The kitchen is well-stocked, the laundry was easy to use, and the bedroom was clean and had what I needed. One note is tha…

Jill is very accomodating, she took an extra mile to host me even when my plane arrived later than expected. There place was comfortable, and relatively close to organic local stores which was important to me. Jill is specific about her hosting requirements so be sure to clarif…

Stayers beware--bathroom, to the best of my knowledge, was not cleaned once during an almost three month stay. Toilet flushes are infrequent, so this leads to odors and potential health risks. Additionally, kitchen goods often contain remnants of old food and there is no microwav…

Response from Jill:
Hi Elijah, I am sorry you found the premises below your standards. In fact, I cleaned the bathroom myself quite frequently, usually with daily wipe-downs of the sink, including removing long hairs from the drain every day when your (unpaid until requested later) guest was present, and, as long as we're sharing details, removing urine from the top of the toilet seat (yup--not so fun). You are correct, we had not been flushing every time, to save water, as many of us in this area do, and when you complained about it via email, I responded immediately, acknowledged your feelings, and changed the practice right away, to make you more comfortable. We also absolutely vacuumed every week or two, though I noticed you keeping your shoes on through the living room despite the clearly stated no-shoes rule, even after a friendly reminder email. Perhaps it was the dirt you tracked in that led you think we weren't vacuuming? Seriously--that's why we made the no-shoes rule in the first place, the carpet is a dirt magnet! Also, I'm not sure which kitchen goods you're referring to. We use a dishwasher, which generally takes care of it. At some point, it appeared to me that you became instantly more withdrawn as a guest, after we discussed politics. So that leads me to wonder if your personal dislike of my views, which I alerted you to before your stay, contributed to your unhappiness. It's too bad--I was looking forward to some more potentially interesting discussions. Like, why money?

Jill is a kind, easy-going and accommodating host who made me feel welcome in her home. The room is small but very pleasant, with an east-facing window onto a pretty backyard. It is not the cheapest room around, but it is the bay area after all, and overall seems good value fo…
