Nestled at the base of the Old Mission Peninsula between the two bays, this home is in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by woods, grass and lush gardens. You'll find my home to be the perfect peaceful retreat, yet close to everything TC has to offer.

The space

This contemporary home offers a private entrance and hallway leading to two large bedrooms with queen size beds and a private bath. The backyard features a deck with lush gardens and woods surrounding. West Bay is within view, and provides cooling breezes to keep you comfortable.

The setting seems "away from it all," yet it's less than 2 miles from Traverse City. Close by are both bays with beaches, multiple wineries (one within walking distance), downtown TC and the TART Trail system.

I am open to a guest for a single night during the week, but would prefer a minimum two night booking on the weekend.

Guest access

I am very flexible and often offer the use of the kitchen and living room. The washer and dryer are available if needed.

Kate's place was exactly as described! The house was wonderful and so was the room we stayed in. Location is very close to downtown and includes a wonderful view of the water. If you are looking to stay on the peninsula, this is a wonderful place!

Staying here was so wonderful. Even driving out to the home is just like the stay and Kathleen herself...beautiful and calm. The house is out on Old Mission Peninsula, where it is quiet and one with nature: we saw two doe and a big, fat bunny. Yet, getting to the city is just a short drive along West Bay. It was absolutely perfect! The home is cozy. The guest area feels secluded from Kathleen’s space, providing privacy. Yet, morning coffee chats with Kathleen were enjoyable. We can’t wait to stay again!

I enjoyed my one night stay. Kathleen responded quickly to my last minute request and I got a really good night’s sleep as the bed was very comfortable!

Kathleen's place was great! Greeted us with a smile, shared a recommendation for dinner, and genuinely interested in getting to know us a little bit! Her home was super clean, large room with a comfortable bed with extra blankets if we needed. She also had beautiful landscaping and outdoor seating with views of the bay. The private entrance with was nice too. Would totally stay here again.

Kathleen was a great host. Although we only say her one night (we were out all day and night adventuring around town!) she was very nice and respectful. The area was a perfect location! Kathleen responded to text messages quickly and recommended places for us to go!

Our host, Kathleen, was very gracious in working with us as plans changed, and our family members were very pleased with the accommodations. Lovely, bright rooms in a great location. We'd definitely go again!

I'm an active person, but am happy puttering around my house as well. I enjoy meeting new people, and feel that I'm relatively open minded. As a host, you'll find me engaging, but sensitive to the need for privacy. I'm an avid skate skier in the winter, and mountain biker the rest of the year. I'm happy to be a trail or tour guide to any who's interested. I've lived in Traverse City since I was a child and know a whole lot about what there is to do and see here. Looking forward to meeting you and helping you to have an enjoyable stay. My life motto is: Seek first to understand, and then to be understood.
