Our beautiful Airbnb—and private residence—burned down in the Holiday Farm Fire on Sept 8. We don’t have the heart to take down this listing. Please visit us in spring of 2022 because we will have a brand new Airbnb that is spacious and gorgeous!

This is what we previously advertised:

You have found the perfect place for a mountain getaway! Just 30 miles east of Eugene, our spacious home is perched above the historic Goodpasture Covered Bridge over the pristine McKenzie River.

The space
We are about a quarter mile above the river and covered bridge on 5 acres of beautiful private land. Because we're not situated directly on the highway, there is minimal traffic sound.

This 800 sq ft private apartment/home is the lower level of our home. Access to your space is separate and private from our living space. It can accommodate 4 with a queen bed and a raised queen air bed. We also have a full-size tree house that can sleep 2.

Vida is a small and quiet town located 20 miles east of the Springfield/Eugene area. This home is ideally located between the city and the main part of the McKenzie River Trail and Three Sisters Wilderness.

This space offers a full-service kitchen with 4 burner stove top, oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, coffee press, blender, lots of cookware, spices; all the basics for making your own delicious meals.

Living room has TV, DVD player, and WiFi. Outside the French doors of the kitchen is a gas grill. Your space has its own washer/dryer.

We do have an outdoor cat, Pete. He was adopted as a barn/feral cat but it turns out he's quite friendly. When he comes around, please leave him outdoors.

Regarding COVID-19:

We are taking extra precautions to ensure health and safety in our home with regards to the COVID-19 virus.
We will be diligent about doing daily disinfecting of common areas and want to ensure that we will do thorough anti-bacterial cleanings of the space between guests.
We want you to feel as safe as possible during your stay in our home.

Guest access
You are welcome to wander anywhere on our property. There are more specific guidelines available when you check in.

Other things to note
If you are seeking a space for guided reflection and renewal, Jeff offers one-on-one Spiritual Direction for a fee. The space and unpretentious grounds invite you to step aside, enter sacred space, and find rest for your soul.

We moved here in 2011 to enjoy the McKenzie River and its surrounding beauty. This home was built by a former priest, and it was well-known locally as Lil’ Bit of Heaven. This property and its history are featured in the coffee-table book, “Riverwater,” which beautifully illustrates the history of the McKenzie River and its covered bridges*. We completed the guest space he had barely started and decided it was too beautiful not to share, and here we are! Jeff works as a Spiritual Director and Janet is both a bookkeeper and Certified Music Practitioner. As a CMP, she serves hospice patients at the bedside with live music. We enjoy good wine and food, great conversation, gardening, traveling, and movies. We've traveled extensively and look forward to discovering new destinations. *When you’re visiting, be sure to check out the Riverwater book, conveniently located on the coffee table!
