We love the cottage overall for its heritage town house style. Peter is always very prompt and clear in his responds on our bookings and arrival instructions. Love the functional kitchen with very clean and good quality cutlery, chinaware, stove, oven, electric toaster and kettle. Peter is also very kind to prepare us a small carton of milk, bottle of chilled mineral water and fruits on our arrival. Love love love the roses he left in every corner of the rooms which has given the cottage a natural air freshener. If you can't take cold very well, do inform Peter if you needed portable heater for your bedroom in advance. It'll warm the room up in those chilly nights. There's a wood fireplace in the living room and gas heater in the dining area to keep you warm too!

Response from Roland:
Rene and Russell, we are very disappointed by your review, particularly since the description and almost 30 photos provide an accurate reflection of the house. We were on hand at all points during your stay to address any concerns you had but you never contacted us about any issues.

We stayed at Roland's place for almost 3 weeks in August. The cottage really suited my family's needs and provided a home away from home. It is well located in Subiaco and close to coffee shops and transport. The host was very helpful and considerate of our needs. Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed in the Subiaco cottage for two weeks, having travelled from Seattle to visit some friends. It was a great base from which to do all the things we wanted to do -- close to both bus and train, and plenty of shops, restaurants and grocery stores in easy walking distance. One of the grocery stores is open late which proved to be quite convenient on evenings dinner plans changed and we had to grab a few items. The cottage had everything needed to make a longer stay comfortable -- wifi [an absolute neccesity when travelling with a teen], kitchen [furnished with pots and pans and dishes and utensils], washer and dryer, big fluffy towels, and, as it was winter, good heating for the living spaces and warm, comfy duvets for the beds. The traffic on the street was very light, making for a quiet time when in the cottage, even in the middle of the day. Discounting, of course, all the varied birdsongs we could hear, including a kookaburra, which was an unexpected delight, and the lorakeets which seemed to like the tree out front. We saw so much of the city and its surrounds [central business and shopping district, Perth Zoo, Swan River, King's Park, Cottesloe and City beaches, Rottnest Island, Caversham Wildlife Park, Hilary's Boat Launch, Fremantle Market, the GIANT mall at Joondalup] and still had time to enjoy the bakeries, restaurants and cat cafe in the neighborhood. We had the pleasure of meeting Roland's brother and father -- both were gracious and helpful. And the entire family was attentive without being intrusive, making sure everything was perfect for our stay. I would definitely recommend the cottage to anyone visiting the area, and if given the chance, would stay again myself.
