Great place. Very quiet and scenic. Up a narrow lane in beautiful countryside, but close to local beaches and easy access to many great places. Very friendly hosts, with good local information. Thanks!

If you want seclusion, bird song and peace and quiet this is a great place to stayed. The cottage is very cosy and compact with a lovely conservatory to sit in and observe the countryside. The country lanes in places allow for only one car so be prepared for that. Short drive to beaches and towns such as Dartmouth and Salcombe. Sample the crab sandwiches in any cafe and you shouldn't be disappointed!

Hi Hayley sorry about pillows but there were 3 spare pillows in the cupboard top of stairs with extra blankets also there was a green bench chair in garden that could be moved to wherever you needed it. The other quests put it by the patio windows sorry you didn't talk to us about this as we are always happy to oblige We loved having you thank you for staying

Gorgeous, secluded property, so peaceful. Shirley is a great host, so helpful with everything we needed. Accommodation is well equipped and very comfortable. One pub a 30 minute walk away but everything else is a drive. But we found it was so peaceful there that we weren't bothered about going anywhere far in the evening. Lovely indoor BBQ that we did some epic fish from the farmer's market on. Had no internet reception on our phones and there's only sporadic wifi in one corner of the porch, so if you like being connected to the outside world you might go a bit crazy, but if you want to disconnect from it all there's no better place. Great location for exploring south Devon.

It is in a beautiful countryside setting, but is not for the faint hearted with the very steep, narrow single track road leading to the house. It is great value for money, but do not expect modern appliances, sanitary ware etc. The place is very well equipped, and has pretty much everything you need in the kitchen, but the fridge takes ages to cool and there is no freezer. I wouldn't recommend it for people who want to explore the immediate local area by foot with very small children. We didn't feel safe enough to walk down the narrow single track to get anywhere, so be prepared to drive to most places. The weather was pretty miserable for most of our stay, so we needed to find things to do with babies indoors (fairly limited), but that was difficult to do, as it is very difficult to get any wifi. There are some old leaflets etc in the cottage, but be warned, the passenger ferry from Kingsbridge to Salcombe no longer runs, as we found out it stopped about 3 years ago! We did find a lovely soft play/cafe/salon in Kingsbridge, which we would highly recommend, it was very clean, lots of different toys/dress up etc for good age range from newborns to toddlers. If you need somewhere basic, with no frills in a beautiful countryside setting and are prepared to drive a lot or do an awful lot of walking and narrow lane negotiation, I would highly recommend it, and hope you have lots of sunshine!

A beautifully presented cottage in a stunning remote location. We had a fabulous time, close proximity to Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Saltcomve and a whole host of beautiful beaches - Mill Bay was our favourite. Highly recommended.

Matt I am so pleased you enjoyed the cottage and the quietness it offers in its remote location but still visited all the local beaches surrounding the cottage - they are our favourites too

We loved our stay at Shirley's cottage! The cottage was lovely and the location was perfect for what we wanted- quiet and secluded but within walking distance of the beach and nice pubs. Shirley was a fantastic host, answering all out questions and giving us tips in the best nearby walks. The cream tea on Andrei value was a lovely touch! Would love to come back again in the future. Thank you Shirley!
