We are operating with electricity from the grid. We also have an electrical generator in case of power loss. Due to the very poor quality of the electricity we cannot offer Air Conditioners, but powerful fans.

The space

Blocks away from the beautiful Ocean Park beach this independent one-bedroom studio is privately tucked away in our back garden.

The bedroom has a queen size bed with cotton linens and a quiet Air Conditioner.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need including olive oil, coffee, tea, sugar, salt and spices. There is a ceiling fan but no AC in the living area.

The shower room is spacious with cotton towels, body wash, shampoo, conditioner & hand soap.

There is also a set of beach towels & insulated cooler bag.

Guest access

You will have your own sets of keys to come & go as you please. After all, this is your home away from home. There is a beautiful tropical garden with hammocks, different sitting areas, outside shower & grill, where you are welcome to hang & just relax.

Interaction with guests

Our apartment is best suited for independent travelers. Although the apartment is located in our home premises, it is completely independent. Once we show you the place and hand you the keys, you are on your own.

We are happy to share our beautiful home with travelers looking for a more authentic experience but please keep in mind this is our home. We live here with our two kids, dog & cat. Sometimes we entertain friends over dinner or an afternoon BBQ in the garden.

Wonderful location. Gianluca has managed to keep the electricity and wifi going despite all the challenges of Maria which has left almost everyone else without. Very cozy and close to the airport. Highly recommended.

Loved it!! Great location in San Juan, very safe, very clean gated community! I can easily say that everything about this place not only met, but exceeded our expectations! Solmari & Gianluca were very kind and friendly in welcoming us into their home! They definitely made our stay in Puerto Rico a very pleasent part of our trip and if we ever come back the island we will definitely keep this place in mind!

Could not rave about this place and these hosts enough. So warm and welcoming- it felt like we were family! They had some incredible recommendations for food & drinks within walking distance and Uber was super helpful for the farther suggestions. The place was gorgeous, comfortable, and convenient and sol and gianluca were both incredibly kind and thoughtful during our stay. Overall I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for an effortless and beautiful getaway.

This AirBnB is exactly as is, and the other reviews are accurate and true. The location is perfect, near a bunch of great- authentic- local restaurants and bars, and also the beach. The home itself is beautiful, has a lot of natural light and is super clean, with everything you might need to make your own meal. The grocery store is a short walk away. The hosts were awesome in communication and providing us information about everything in San Juan. We loved Solmari's honest feedback on what restuarants we should go to (check out the guidebook!!). Absolutely enjoyed our time in P.R, even with the Hurricane Irma scare. Very happy it didn't do too much damage to this beautiful place.

Response from Gianluca:
Thank you so much for being great guests in such a stressful situation. We are grateful PR was spare from Irma's fury.

I had the pleasure of meeting Solimar who was a beautiful soul. Very accessible and made our stay feel at home. Her home was close to the local beach and cab rides around town from her home were very cheap. Very nice neighborhood, walking distance to your local stores. A stay to remember!

Back in the Summer of 1996, just when I decided that my unscripted time in Florence had come to an end, (an original plan to take a three-month college break pleasantly extended into 4 years of jewelry making school) my husband Gianluca, a Lighting Designer from Milan, had just returned to Italy after a year living in Jamaica, and decided that Florence was the place he wanted to live. But life is full of twists, and even though it seemed like our destinies were headed in opposite directions, a year later our lives entangled.

I returned to Florence for vacation and ran into him again. But this time around, love got in our way. How can you say no to love? So, a few months after that first spark, I moved back to Italy; this time to Milan, where I got a job as a Product Director for a high-end fashion jewelry house.
20 years later, back in San Juan, Puerto Rico we have two kids: 10 year-old Noa, our boy born in Milan and 8 year-old Numa, our girl born in San Juan. We renovated a 1970’s six-unit property, where we live on the second floor and rent the rest of the units to long-term tenants.

In August 2012, after lodging Gianluca's parents in one of the vacant apartments during their visit, we decided to use some of the units to host family and friends visiting from abroad. When not in use by family or friends, it is available for travelers looking for a home away from home.
