The space

Wondering where to stay in Newcastle? Looking for a unique, relaxing experience for a reasonable price? Here’s seven reasons why the Rosebery a Boutique B&B, Jesmond is ideal for you:

1. You get the best of both worlds

Situated in a quiet area not far from the city centre, The Rosebery is perfect for a chilled out weekend break in Newcastle. The metro is a short walk away and, with only one stop to go, the quickest way into the city centre. In town you can enjoy everything from a day of shopping to a trip to the theatre, or a fabulous night out at its various cocktail bars. Once you’re done, you can head back to the The Rosebery, where you’re guaranteed to have a fantastic night’s sleep undisturbed by Newcastle’s nightlife.

2. We’re the closest hotel to the Freeman Hospital

As well as weekend getaways, we cater for long term guests here at The Rosebery. As the closest hotel to The Freeman Hospital (a facility pioneering in transplant surgery), we welcome the friends and relatives of patients. With long term discount rates, we are dedicated to making sure your continued stay with us is as comfortable as possible.

3. We have a ‘more the merrier’ attitude

Whether you’re on a weekend getaway or visiting a relative at the Freeman Hospital, we maintain a ‘more the merrier’ attitude here at the Rosebery. We love having both families and dogs stay with us, offering cheap rates for both: children under 5 go free, whilst dogs stay for just £10 a night. We also provide a dog-sitting service for those guests who need it and a cot for those families with babies. As well as this, our spacious ensuite rooms are excellent for families and their pets, as is the Rosebery’s quiet location. In the morning, a trip to the Dene is great for children and dogs alike, with a petting zoo and a cafe to keep you occupied!

4. We’re the most stylish bed and breakfast in Newcastle

Whatever your reason for staying, The Rosebery is the perfect place to achieve that home-away-from-home feeling. Unlike any other bed and breakfast in Newcastle, our vintage interior creates a cosy atmosphere for our guests; meaning whatever your style there is a room perfect to help you unwind.

You'll be given a free drink of your choice every evening, choosing from our wide selection of wines, ales and spirits.

And for birthdays we offer premium rooms with roll top baths, so you can treat yourself to a pampering soak or a quick nap before you head out to celebrate. You’ll also get a bottle of fizz, some chocolates and we can arrange flowers if you want, so that you’re bound to have the best birthday of your life!

5. There’s loads to do right on our doorstep

While you stay with us, you’re free to relax in your room or explore the local area. Clayton Road is fantastic for a bit of retail therapy, and there are a number of takeaways or a Rehills nearby if you want to pop out for something quickly.

If you’re feeling peckish, there’s loads of great places to eat nearby. Cafe Bar One is great for a hot alternative to our breakfast; or if it’s been a few hours and you want a light lunch we recommend Caffe Zonzo in Sandyford. In the evening, the restaurant-bar, As You Like It is a great environment for all occasions. Whether you’re having a girls’ night out or a romantic dinner for two, it’s a guaranteed fun night!

6. Parking is nae bother!

After a long journey, the last thing you need is the hassle of finding somewhere to park before you can settle into your room. Thankfully, the Rosebery is surrounded by a number of unrestricted parking areas, as well as extra spaces in front of the church between 10:30am and 16:30pm. If you’d like to know more about transport in Newcastle generally, check out our blog post ‘Transport Made Easy’.

And finally, we’re very, very persuasive…

Now that you know why the Rosebery is the best B&B in Jesmond, come along for a weekend and check out the fantastic service we provide. You won’t find a hotel that takes as much pride in its unique sense of style and impeccable service, nor one that can guarantee such a one-of-a-kind experience. So whether you’ve been here before or you’re a first time guest, we’ll be waiting to welcome you!

What a delightfully quirky hotel full of little treasures. If you like something beyond the ordinary bland hotel then this is for you... my room was a pleasure to stay in. Spotlessly clean extremely comfortable and close to the city centre, though Jesmond itself is a great place to stay and explore. I'll certainly be back. Thank you Janet.

Came here for a night whist working at the Freeman hospital. I was unsure of what to expect, after walking in I really liked the look and feel of it. Its a boutique style hotel but its really stylishly quirky. My room was really spacious and bed really comfortable. My only thoughts was that the shower didn't have much pressure but it did the job. Its got a cosy feel to it and it close to a good gym (called "the gym"). Best of all was coming home after a hard days work on the Thursday and a pretty lady bringing me a gin and tonic...! You'll notice there are lots of nice little bits of attention to detail which can make all the difference when you're working away. Id love to return
