If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay after a day of exploring Acadia/Mount Desert Island, look no further. The view has to be seen to be believed. It was one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen. The hosts graciously provide breakfast each morning. I would definitely sta…

Peaceful and quiet spot on the water tucked away on MDI. Very comfortable homey place.

A beautiful spot. This was our last stop on our trip through Acadia, and Lauri and Roger made us feel right at home. The views from the home are unbelievable — we watched the sun set over the mountains and the sea over dinner every night that we were there. And Lauri was kind eno…

The views, hospitality, and oh man, the popovers at Roger's place, cannot be beat. The apartment had all the creature comforts we needed in a beautiful, secluded setting. Roger is a wealth of knowledge on the area and provided great recommendations for off the beaten path hikes a…

What a quiet place, with a great view on the ocean and the sunset. Good breakfasts, cooked by Lauri.

Response from Roger:
Helene: Thanks for your feedback. We work very hard and take pride in offering our guests the cleanest and most comfortable possible space, so are disappointed that you found our efforts lacking. It sometimes takes both us the entire six hours between check out and check in to launder and iron the sheets and do all the other myriad tasks involved in preparing the apartment to our standards. You're right in describing the faint discoloration of the vinyl flooring near the shower as a stain, as it actually is permanently damaged and can't be cleaned – we have tried numerous solutions to no avail. I'm sure you understand that it's not realistic to replace good, cleanable, and sanitary bathroom flooring each time it my be slightly damaged by a guest, but I can assure you that, should we decide it cannot be cleaned, sanitized and made comfortable underfoot, we will replace it post haste. We may have to remove the rust stained vinyl from the cabinet under the sink. As for the smell in the kitchen, we, too noticed it when we went in to clean after your departure. In the future we will be certain to instruct our guests not to deposit lobster gurry (the leftover shells and body parts) in the trash as it begins to smell almost immediately. The best way to dispose of gurry is to take it to the dock and return it to the waters from which it came. Sincerely, Roger & Lauri

This place is quiet, private and GEORGOUS. If you don’t mind a 20-30 minute drive to town and crave serenity, that is a wonderful place to stay. We had 2 teenaged girls with us and there was plenty of space. Internet, WiFi and phone service, is pretty much non-existent but it ke…
