Hi Lauren, thank you for commenting on the great location, and our hospitality and communication. We appreciate that.
We are disappointed that your expectations for storage and space were different than what we offer. Kindly remember that Airbnb started with people opening up their homes for others, and hosts are not hotel business people but people welcoming you in their home. Along with of the charm of Air BnB sharing is the expectation that, unlike a hotel, the family actually lives and not every drawer/closet will be empty, unlike a hotel. We did provide a spacious drawer in the dresser in each of the bedrooms, plus one third of our master bedroom hanging space. If you needed additional space, all you’d have to do is ask us, and our helper would have emptied additional more drawers. We take pride in our work and offer our guests the best we can.
We have been more than understanding and accommodating hosts and feels like our kindness has been met with cruelty. When you accidentally took cutlery and a toy, and let us know that you would get them back to us, we didn't hold it against you. Your child also torn a little drawing (irreplaceable and very dear to us) that my mom and daughter painted together when she was three. We’ve communicated about but I never thought that you would throw out the pieces rather than keeping them. That was unexpected and cruel. Please think about how your words and actions impact others.
Also for the record, your booking was for 5 people, 4 days and Airbnb portal shows $1115 for your visit not almost $1500 as you stated (excerpt below is from the Airbnb portal). Please kindly discuss any fees with Airbnb directly if you feel appropriate. Best wishes!
