A slice of England that covers all bases: fantastic house that is both traditional and stylish, as well as comfy and quiet. A village that is sat in wonderful countryside to walk and take in views of the rolling countryside, but close to Bath to easily drive in. The local pub serves great food and beer, and a short walk through the picturesque village of Combe Hay. Joan was the perfect host and kept us informed at all times before we arrived, as well as making some delicious slices to welcome us. A great place to stay and definitely one to return to. Just one suggestion: follow Joan's instruction to the house, not the (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps route in the AirB&B app!

Joan's Snug was the perfect spot, and we would easily say it's been our favorite this whole trip. The Snug was very clean, modern and honestly adorable. The sitting room apart from the bedroom was so nice, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bedsheets and pillows were of the highest quality and I was even tempted to see if she'd sell me the soap in the washroom, we truly loved every single bit of our stay there. Joan was so genuinely warm and kind, and even apologized for having her car parked in HER driveway, which gave us quite the chuckle. You won't find a better place; secluded from the bustle of the city, but centrally located in the quiet village, we highly recommend the Snug... as well as her homemade cookies!

We had a wonderful time in the lovely, cozy, and picturesque "Snug." If we're ever back in Bath, this will be our choice.

Just a fantastic little find. Joan is lovely and her own home and the snug are just something both my wife and I would love to own. Weather was amazing. Finish and build of property was typical bath finish with a modern twist. Joan, we thank you for a fab weekend and we will be back for sure.

Joan User ProfileJoan is a superhost.

As my children have now left home, I decided to open my home to airbnb. Many years ago I was an air stewardess and loved meeting people from all around the world, and my enthusiasm for this has never faded. Having lived in Asia for years, I now love the contrast of living in Combe Hay, which is a quintessential village in the heart of the country side and yet close to Bath.
My pastimes include tennis, gardening and reading.
