The space

We are located in South Philadelphia, in the Passyunk Square area, a few blocks from famous Geno's and Pat's, the Italian Market, and walking distance to South Street. The neighborhood is loaded with fantastic places to eat of all ethnicities, including vegan, vegetarian, halal and kosher. Across the street is the 47 bus which is a 10 minute ride to Society Hill, the historic district and downtown. Also across the street is the 29 bus which takes 6 minutes to Broad Street where you can catch the subway 10 minutes direct to the stadiums and concert venues. On a beautiful sunny day everything is no more than a 15 minute walk. On street parking is free, unrestricted and safe. There is no problem finding a spot during the day, however, neighbors come home from work starting about 4 pm, and by 5-6 pm it is hunt and hike and by 8-9 pm it is impossible. Come during the day and park, and you can forget about your car until time to leave.
We have a private room for you with, yes, a sofa bed, BUT a sofa bed like no other. It is a special Italian design that cost a fortune but is well worth it. NO METAL BAR IN YOUR BACK! It folds out into a solid queen size platform bed that is unbelievably comfortable and supportive.
The bathroom, which is shared with one other guest room, is checked and OCD cleaned every day, sometimes even more. Thanks to Steve, the retired chef, there is always a cache of fresh bread, , muffins or something laying in wait, begging to be eaten. Price includes full breakfast, and most of the food we prepare is organic when possible. Spring, summer and fall, weather permitting, after a foot weary day you can relax in our lovely little garden with a glass of iced tea. Parking is on street, safe, free, and no permit needed, however, being residential it is first come first served. Usually daytime is no problem, but when neighbors come home from work, starting around 4 pm, it fills up pretty fast and by 5-6 pm it is hunt and hike. By 8-9 pm, there is nothing left; not one single spot, so please try to consider this in your arrival time. Come as early as possible, park, and you can forget about the car until time to leave. Philly is very walkable, and has a great public transport system.
Free WiFi,laundry facilities including ironing board and iron available, complimentary toiletries and hairdryer available. No smoking.

There are a lot of good things to say- but most simply put: Best bang-for-your-buck in Phila! Neighborhood was very nice and breakfast would have cost half the price of our room if we had gone out to an equivalent nice restaurant that morning! Thank you very much.

I had flown to Philadelphia to make sure my son got on an international flight to Zürich Switzerland. I needed a place to stay and my wife found this on air BNB. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Much nicer (and less expensive) than a hotel. This was a 1913 row hous…
