Nice quiet neighborhood perfect for our group of Yogis & Yoginis. Sara's home backs up to a lake which is absolutely gorgeous. Most of the beds are on the floor which worked for us but may not for older folks. We were able to prep and cook our evening meals in the fully equipped …
Response from Sara:
The beds are on the floor at this time. Easier to care for under and around the beds, and there is no problem with bed frames as we have had in the past. We are considering putting frames back into the mix, but for now we have found this works well for us at this time. Two of the beds are easier to get out of, with plenty of distance from the floor, and very comfortable. Two of the beds are closer to the floor, also very comfortable, but could be a cause for concern for an older individual who might not be able to handle this type of arrangement. Again we have not had complaints, but I do tell guests to choose a bed according to their preferences, and we have added even more comfort and padding to the mattresses. Four of the beds are large, queen size, one is a large double, and all have warm blankets, quilts and plenty of pillows, and ofcourse 100% cotton sheets with high thread counts... All bedrooms are carpeted. Tammy's group was a pleasure to host...
I like nice decks with great views and this property delivered both. I felt part of nature. We also liked the piano, the walk to the lake [a bit steep, though], and we especially liked the way Sara welcomed us. The house was ideal for the four of us, very close to Monticello, …
Response from Sara:
I think I should have raked the walk down to the lake. Will do this from now on for all of our guests. As leaves drop and sticks and twigs land, in the fall months, it would be nice to show the pathway clean and tidy, will pay more attention to this , Thanks for the idea. To get to the dam, there is a rock outcropping that must be climbed over. But it is totally navigable by hugging the outcropping of rock... Its one of those things that you do in your sneakers or running shoes, or hiking boots, not so much in flip flops.. OR for the less adventurous, just enjoy the views from the hot tub on the deck... I am glad Vince and Dawn had a great week. they were fun to host.
Three of us stayed for a couple days and had a wonderful time exploring local wineries and downtown Charlottesville, which is less than 15 minutes away. Sara was a great hostess -- welcomed us with brownies, wine, fresh towels, and a helpful tour of the place. Loved the hot tub a…
