Within walking distance of the centre of Midhurst which lies at the heart of the South Downs National Park, The Old Dairy is a fantastic place from which to explore the local area and all that it has to offer. There is something for everyone from strolling or mountain-biking on the South Downs Way (local bike hire available) to visiting the beautiful National Trust gardens at Woolbeding, Polo at Cowdray Park or visit the fantastic sandy beach at West Wittering. Goodwood is a short drive away.

The space

A detached, single storey barn adjacent to our family home and sharing a driveway which forms a courtyard between the two properties. The living area has a fully functional kitchen with fridge, oven, hob, extractor fan, microwave oven, washing machine, kettle & toaster. There is a table and chairs for two, a sofa and a TV with freeview. The bedroom has a double bed with mattress topper and king size quilt. There is a freestanding bath with hand held shower attachment, toilet & sink (which are open plan to the bedroom but separate from the living area) There is a privacy screen which can be positioned as required. The Old Dairy has underfloor heating which runs for 24 hours a day in the colder months and a combi boiler which provides hot water instantly whenever you need it. Outside is a small patio area with table and chairs. Seat pads are also provided.

Guest access

The Old Dairy is detached and completely available for guest use. There is a small patio area outside for guests (which leads into our garden) There is room to park one car on our driveway. There is additional parking nearby if required.

Interaction with guests

We want you to enjoy your stay and will leave you undisturbed to do so. We are always happy to meet our guests and answer any questions that you may have.

Other things to note

We provide accommodation on a self-catering basis. We provide linens (including bath and tea towels) loo rolls and washing up items. Toiletries are not provided except for hand soap and shampoo. We will provide tea, coffee (cafetiere & instant) sugar and some milk as well as cooking oil and salt and pepper.

We are happy to accommodate infants and would ask that you bring with you any equipment that they may require during your stay.

My husband, Alistair is a keen road rider and is happy to advise on suitable routes should you wish. Bicycle hire is available locally and we have arranged a 10% discount for you.

There is an information folder in the Old Dairy containing suggestions for things to do, places to visit and eating out, together with a selection of leaflets for local attractions. Further information can also be found on the 'Visit Midhurst' website.

Our driveway has room to accommodate our two cars and one guest car without either of us having to disturb the other in order to come and go (you will have your own designated space) This is our family home and occasionally we may have visitors also wishing to park on our driveway. We will advise you in advance if this is the case and will of course move any extra cars immediately on request to allow you access.

Lovely location, good value relative to others nearby, less than a 10 min walk into Midhurst, equally well set up to just stick on the wellies and head out for a walk. We ate at the Seven Fish one evening in town which was good and had a nice brunch at a local haunt on Sunday. Clean and tidy accommodation and a welcoming host. Would stay here again.

The Old Dairy was lovely. Everything looked lovely, and was very clean. The kitchen is well equipped and lovely bedding and towels. Its in a great spot for exploring the area, and an easy walk into Midhurst. Claire was a lovely host, and had lots of great recommendations for the area.

Lovely place to stay. Felt at home straight away and whilst the owner gave us plenty of space, she was also very quick to respond to our questions. Warm, bright, spacious place very tastefully decorated. Recommended.

We had a great experience at Claire's place. The dairy is comfortable, stylish and very peaceful. It's also much bigger than it looks in the pictures, there was more than enough space for two of us plus our baby. Claire was friendly and welcoming and there was lots of information available about the local area. Midhurst is a lovely little village within easy walking distance of the dairy. Would definitely recommend!

The Old Dairy is perfectly situated on a quiet residential road, in easy walking distance of Midhurst town and beautiful countryside. The barn itself was spotlessly clean and had everything you'd need for a weekend away. Claire was a wonderful host. She greeted us when we arrived and was always quick at responding to our queries. Highly recommend a stay!

Very stylish place with everything you need, including excellent WiFi and off-road parking. The space is very well designed and thought-through. Nice walk into Midhurst where you'll find all the amenities of a West Sussex town.

Really enjoyed our stay at Claire's place. Nice peaceful location but just 5 mins from Midhurst centre. Some nice walks nearby also. Well appointed accommodation and some really nice, considerate touches that we appreciated, not least the ground coffee and cafetiere! Highly recommended.

We moved into our current home in June 2016 and have lots to do to make it ours. I am therefore most often to be found with a paintbrush or gardening tool to hand!

In my spare time I like baking, going for long walks in the countryside, and pilates.

I enjoy meeting people and love it when my guests knock at my door to say hello or to tell me about things that they have enjoyed doing during their stay.
