Interaction with guests

I work normal office hours and am involved in a number of community organizations so I have a pretty busy life during the week. For the most part, I will leave you alone. I am always available by phone and texts if you have questions.

This bedroom and bathroom are located on the third floor, which had limited access to other guests. You have access to the second floor, which includes the kitchen and living room.

For my longer term guests, I have started hosting weekly brunches on the weekend so they have the opportunity to interact with me and my friends to give them ideas on what to do in Seattle. These are completely optional and are meant for new visitors to Seattle. I have found it helpful to connect with guests and have made them feel more comfortable. It's also a great opportunity to practice English if it's not your first language.

I stayed at Sima’s place for four months while doing at observership at Children’s Autism Center. I don’t think I could have chosen a better place! It’s a 10 minute walk to Children’s Hospital, one mile away from the popular University Village with shops and places to dine, right across the street from a grocery store, and within walking distance (less than two minutes) of bus stops that will take you anywhere. Route 74 stops right in front of Sima’s and it will take you downtown, and one block away you can take route 65 to UVillage, UW, and the light rail station at University of Washington. If you are looking for a place close to any of these locations, I 100% recommend Sima’s place! I often walked to U Village, it is just a mile away :) and the weather is perfect to do so. Sima was very kind and helpful! She let me know right from the beginning I was welcomed to use the kitchen, fridge, TV, living room, etc. I was free to come and go at whatever hour, obviously keeping in mind not to make noise late at night/early on the morning. I had my own full bathroom and set of towels. My room had a small desk which I didn’t really use as a desk, a heater for the cold Seattle nights, two sets of bedding, and since it got awfully hot this past summer, Sima went ahead and got me a portable window AC unit or whoever you call it. I was so thankful for this, sleeping in the high 90’s (36C) is NOT nice. If I am ever in Seattle again, I will 100% stay with Sima again!

Sima was a wonderful and incredible host. She is one of those rare souls who put you immediately at ease in their warm, welcoming presence. She gives great attention to detail and will spare no effort to ensure you feel at home. From the first day, Sima made us feel very welcome and at home in her lovely place. It's really the small things that make the biggest difference. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay in Sima’s house. Great conversations, loved it here! Very comfortable double bed. Bathroom was very clean and stocked with toiletry essentials. Kitchen was well supplied with all you need to make a complete meal. The neighborhood of Sima’s home is a great place: quiet, beautiful, easy get public transportation and very near of a supermarket and UW. We would absolutely stay with her again next time we visit Seattle and we would recommend Simas's place to anyone looking for a pleasant stay. Five stars and 2 thumbs up!!. Sima, thanks a lot for your hospitality and generosity (I wish she always has good guests that they always live up to she in her home delivers).

I'm originally from Canada and have lived in Seattle for 13 years.

I have a passion for working with people in crisis and currently work as a Medical Social Worker.

My place is really close to UW and a number of hospitals. As a former grad student, I understand the difficulty of affording a place while you're finishing schooling or are a recent graduate, or if you have devoted your life to research, academia or non-profit work. If you are unable to afford the current rate and:

- You plan to stay for more than 8 weeks
- There is availability during your time here
- Your stay is part of an internship, post-doc fellowship, residency or research project

Please let me know and we can see if we can work something out.
