The guesthouse is one mile North of downtown Raleigh in a quiet neighborhood. You can walk to breakfast at Yellow Dog bakery, walk to dinner at highly rated restaurants, and end your day with chocolates from local chocolatier Escazu.
This 525 square-foot guesthouse is a private room above a detached garage. It has loft ceilings, generous lighting, a comfortable king-sized bed, comfortable full-sized futon, sitting area, and full-sized private bathroom. In-room Keurig coffee maker with coffee pods provided. Includes microwave, mini-frig, and plates and utensils.
This listing has self check-in and check-out with keypad access. You will have access to the guesthouse and by default, the garage. Drop off your bags at the garage, park and then carry them upstairs. Your entry and exit will be through the large garage door that faces the alley. There is a keypad on the garage door. No cars are kept in the garage, so you will not be bothered by the garage door opening and closing. You are welcome to use the courtyard table and chairs. Just be aware we have a friendly dog (Lucy) who is prone to get excited about new guests and jump up on them a bit. She has full access to the courtyard through her doggie door. Your entry and exit will be through the garage door.
Interaction with guests
My interaction with guests will be limited. I love you of course, but I'm away working most of the time. If you need help, I'm available by text or email.
Other things to note
Be aware there is a train track nearby. Fortunately, it's mostly just a low rumble that helps put you to sleep.
If you book, you'll need to read the location directions provided for directions, parking and check-in instructions.
There are 21 steps from the ground floor to the room, and the stairwell is a bit narrow.
There is a lock on the door to the apartment, and the heavy security is provided by a deadbolt on the garage door that leads to the courtyard.
Your entry and exit during your stay will be through the garage door, which has a keypad.
