The houseboat is in the heart of the Jordaan area, in the centre of our city. The boat has 2 separate studios of 16m2 for my guests and another part of the boat where I live myself. In walking distance of the famous Anne Frank House and Noordermarkt. The comfortable kingsize bed is a guarantee for a good nights sleep. The huge sliding windows which can be fully openend on warm days and built in shades to give you a great view and privacy.

The space
A charming and delightful houseboat in a top location, “Olivia houseboat” is a wonderful example of clever Dutch design and decor. We have made great use of the space and wonderful natural light. With two separate studios to rent (see my other add) “Olivia” is a great choice for couples or friends. “Olivia” is named after my youngest daughter. She is brand new and was only placed in the canals in September 2016.

There is a real sense of space, light and joie de vivre on this boat that makes it a pleasure to be aboard. There is privacy, with a cosy, built-in box kingsize bed. If you are in for a lazy morning open the shades and watch life on the water from your comfortable bed. The living area, with a cleverly designed kitchenette is a joy to be at. The huge sliding windows offer a sense of space and give you a great view even though the studio is only 16m2. The kitchenette offers a water boiler and espresso machine as well as a small microwave and fridge. Here you can store your breakfast items or serve up something delicious that you’ve brought home from one of the neighborhood’s many outstanding eateries.

Guest access
The entrance to the houseboat is for the guests of both apartments at the houseboat as well as for myself. Please keep noise to a minimum when entering and when closing doors.

Other things to note
The houseboat is not wheelchair accessible.

Moored on one of the most beautiful canals in Amsterdam, the Brouwersgracht, in one of Amsterdam’s most desirable areas, the Jordaan district, you will have the best of the city at your fingertips. Quaint cafes, fabulous restaurants, an incredible array of food specialty shops, and Amsterdam’s oldest movie theater - this is where most Amsterdammers wish they could live! The Jordaan was originally home to the working class Dutch, and since 2009, neighborhood has been a part of the UNESCO designated World Heritage Site. You’ll be able to wander down the cobblestone streets and feel history come alive. The Anne Frank house is just up the Prinsengracht canal. The Dutch East India Company headquarters are right around the corner. This was Rembrandt’s old neighborhood, and those with an artistic eye will be captivated by the picturesque surroundings.

I have a 5-year old daughter who stays at my place for about half of the time. I love to make roadtrips including lots of food experiences. My favourite places to go are the USA and the southern part of Europe. I love Italy, France and Spain.

As I live on the houseboat myself you can knock on my door during day time(or most of the time it will be open when I'm home) to have a little chat. If you need anything for your room, or just some information or just a talk. You are always welcome.
