This is one of the spacious family rooms available at Burmieston, sleeping 4. There is a super king bed (or twin beds) and a bunk bed - suitable for adults or children. It has its own en suite with a walk in shower and double basins.

The space

This lovely spacious family room has a large super king bed and two single beds (bunks) suitable for both adults or children. Or we can make the room up for four singles. We have reinstated one of the original stable partitions to provide some privacy between the bunks and the other beds. The room opens directly onto the Steading courtyard.

As with all the downstairs rooms the flooring was salvaged from the Copper Box Olympic Stadium. The duvets, pillows and beds are all made from organic materials and there are no metal springs in the mattrasses. The natural latex mattrass behaves like memory foam without releasing any chemicals, while the duvets and pillows are made from Welsh wool - keeping you warm and snug.

The en suite shower room has a clarge walk in shower using an old cow 'bis' as part of the shower screen. We have also used the old roof timbers to support the basins. We like to reuse here!

Guest access

There is a large shared kitchen. The space is shared but each room has its own island with oven, induction hobs and fridge. There is a lovely courtyard to sit in, protected from the wind.

Interaction with guests

We live on site but in a separate building so are available when needed.

A fantastic place to stay - beautifully designed, spacious and well equipped. Would highly recommend. The only negative was we didn't book for longer .

Burmieston Farm and Steading is a amazing place. The views, east and west are spectacular. The accommodation was of a very high standard and made you feel at home instantly. The smell of nettle soap is unforgettable and I was thrilled to have it in the bathroom. The small interesting features and personal touches do make you feel as though your at home. Can't wait to stay again! CR

We had a great time at Burmieston Farm, rooms were beautifully done with lovely artwork, the shared kitchen area was well equipped and a great space to chill out and relax. We cycled and walked from the property, there are so many walks/cycle routes to choose from. Keesje and Olly were fantastic hosts and I would recommend this property to anyone. We were a group of 2 families with 6 kids between us and it suited us perfectly (plus the dog)

I live in Scotland with my husband and son. We also have a dog, chickens, geese and Jacob sheep so it's all go! I love cooking, listening to my son giggle, feeling the weather on my face (but knowing I can find somewhere warm!), laughing with my friends and discovering new things. My most recent discovery is the importance of weeds!
