Welcoming, charming and luminous, this is a 1st floor 49m2 boho chic apartment located in the heart of Bairro Alto.

Close to Chiado and Rossio, our 1700's flat is located in a vibrant and lively district full of restaurants, bars, shops, winebars and museums. A pulsing area that shows Lisbon's authentic and tradicional side.

Tram 28, bus, metro and train stations are all within a short walking distance.

The space
This is an 18th century 1st floor apartment located right in the heart of Bairro Alto, one of the trendiest and most traditional neighbourhoods in Lisbon. Its great location makes the city easy to navigate on foot.

The apartment accomodates up to 3 guests. It has a dining room, a lounge room, a pantry, a kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom. We decorated it with lots of love and attention to detail and in a way that matches the atmosphere of Bairro Alto and Lisboa, while keeping our guests comfort in mind. We tried to make it a relaxing, laid-back haven where you can chill after a day getting lost in the city! :)

Having been built in the 1700's, the building doesn't offer an elevator. Although the flat is on a 1st floor, and our guests only having to go up one set of stairs, it not suitable for people with mobility issues.

We provide pure cotton bed linens, lots of pillows and cuchions, a white noise machine and earplugs to help you sleep. The lounge room and the bedroom are separated by a "gaiola pombalina", an anti-seismic construction technique developed after the 1755 Lisbon earthquake that supports most buildings in of the downtown. This is part of the city's history and heritage and it's probably our favourite feature in the apartment :)

We have also offer a coffee, a tv with cable connection, a bluetooth soundsystem, as well as cactus and plants and some macramé pieces made by Rosana! :)

*Light sleepers please read*

Bairro Alto is a very lively neighbourhood and in the city centre. During the day it is quiet, very chilled and relaxed but especially during the nights of Friday and Saturday (but also potentially during the week) there will surely be noise at night that a building built in the 1700's can not block.

To help our guests sleep soundly, we got a white noise machine for the bedroom. This may be enough for some people, but may not be for others. There's always earplugs, but please take this into consideration before booking. Being an historic district, we are very limited in terms of things we can do in the apartment to improve the acoustics, as there are special laws we have to comply with.

We love traveling and having our fridge full of magnets from all over and especially the memories they bring. Bring a fridge magnet from your home town and take another from Lisboa :)

Guest access
Guests will have access to the whole apartment.

Other things to note
Please note there may be some noise on Friday and Saturday night mainly, but also potentially during the week.

Please note we have a white noise machine that can block most of the noise that may be noticeable from outside, but it may not be enough for a light sleeper. If that's your case, don't forget bring a pair of earplugs, just in case.

Also, because the flat is located in a historical district, there are regulations we have to comply with that apartments located outside these areas don't.

One of the things we can not have is an AC, as that implies installing part of it outside of the building, which is not allowed. We do have a portable fan and a portable heater inside, that you can move around the house as you wish, if it gets too hot or too cold.

Bairro Alto is a vibrant neighbourhood with many restaurants and bars. It is one of the most traditional areas of the city. It is a very charming bubble and amazing place that offers a sense authenticity. It is very lively so it can get busy and crowded at times, especially during the summer months, even though it is very chilled and relaxed during the day.
