If staying in a cute cottage with modern conveniences appeals, Ross Cottage is for you! Please, no dogs or other pets.

The space
Ross Cottage is on a quiet rural road, just off the Scenic Alpine Highway 72. Lovely views of several mountains of the Southern Alps can be seen from the cottage. We would love to guarantee cloud-free days but clouds can hide the mountains! A popular cafe is within easy walking distance. River swimming holes, bushwalks and mountain hiking tracks are nearby. Horse trekking is available just up the road from the cottage. The area has great summer and winter attractions including NZ's best ski field, Mt. Hutt, a short distance away. Mt. Sunday, the movie site of Edoras, home to the Rohan people, is in easy reach for a days outing. From our property we look out to lush farm land, Mt. Somers, Mt, Winterslow and Mt. Taylor. The town of Methven is 15 minutes drive away. Here are services relating to the skifield, plus restaurants, supermarket and shops that meet most needs. Ashburton is 30 minutes drive away, providing the facilities of a larger town. The township of Mt. Somers, five minutes away, is a dairy with petrol & diesel available. We offer free wifi, and have good cell phone coverage.
Let us know if you would like the hot tub prepared for you.
Please no dogs or other pets. We have an aging cat who becomes stressed with unfamiliar animals around.

Guest access
Two adjoining bedrooms, the second bedroom accessed through the first, with a curtain doorway. The first bedroom has a double bed, the second bedroom has two single beds.
The space also includes a dining room, lounge, kitchen, shower, bath and toilet.

We are a couple who love sharing our historic cottage with others. Having travelled extensively it is great meeting people from all around the world. We have both worked in people-related occupations for many years, and have been involved in running retreats, so we are familiar with hosting people, giving them their privacy while being available if needed.
