The space

WELCOME to my cozy and newly renovated apartment, composed of a luminous double room, a living room with a double sofa-bed, a bathroom with a spacious shower, a fully-equipped kitchen, a laundry room and, last but not the least, a delightful garden, shaded by banana trees and a pergola full of hanging clusters of grapes, where you can start the day with a breakfast out in the open, or enjoy a glass of wine at sunset.

The apartment is part of a historic building dating back to the 2nd half of the 19th century, located in the area of Campo di Marte, a five-minute walk from the second large train station in Florence.

Its location is very favorable, as it is quite close to the city center with its museums, squares and gardens: a 7 minute bus ride will take you to Piazza San Marco, literally the heart of the city as far as transportation goes, while after a 15 minute bus ride you’ll reach the Santa Maria Novella train station. If you’d like to take a nice walk instead, Archeological Museum, with its new entrance from Piazza SS Annunziata, the Jewish Synagogue, and Piazza dei Ciompi with its traditional flea market and its famous Loggia del Pesce are only 15-20 minutes away! What’s more, it will take you only 10 minutes to arrive at Piazza Santa Croce, the Bargello and the Duomo, while in 15 minutes you’ll reach Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and the Botanical Gardens, and the Medici Chapels and the San Lorenzo market with a variety of local and typical products are just short distance away. Just great, don’t you think?

There’s yet to come: Once you reach Piazza San Marco, the Accademia Gallery which hosts the David, one of Michelangelo’s masterpieces, is just around the corner . The adjacent Piazza San Marco, where you can visit the Museum of San Marco, is the hub of an extensive network of public transport services, thanks to which you can reach the neighboring districts of the city, including Fiesole, Settignano and the Certosa of Florence, in a few minutes.

Tired of walking? At the nearby Sant’Ambrogio square with its daily fruits and vegetables market you can rent one of the bikes provided by the public network “Thousand and One bikes” for 10 Euros a day, and go comfortably around the city.

SERVICES AVAILABLE

- Fully equipped with the basic coking devices as well as the cutlery, glasses, bowls and plates and cups.
- Refrigerator with a small freezer, microwave, coffee maker, both Italian “moka” and an American coffee machine, kettle and toaster

PERSONALIZING YOUR STAY
During your stay you will be provided with all the information you’ll need to get the best of the city’s most famous tourist attractions, as well as suggestions on unconventional and rare occasions. I’ll gladly indicate the less-beaten tracks, the restaurants and bars most popular among the locals where you can have a genuine Florentine experience, highly-qualified gastronomic tours in and around the city, as well as additional information on organic, vegetarian and vegan food.

HOW TO REACH THE APARTMENT
By bus or taxi from the Santa Maria Novella train station: If you arrive at the Santa Maria Novella train station, once you get out you can take the bus N.6 (in the direction of Piazza San Marco), from which you shall get down at the bus stop “Sarpi” in Via Landucci. Alternatively, take the inner connection train to the Campo di Marte train station and follow the instructions below. If you would rather take a taxi, you will find a taxi station right outside the main entrance to the train station on your left and the ride will cost around €12.

By walk from the Campo di Marte train station: Once you’re out of the station, turn left and walk for around 5 minutes along Via Mannelli, until you cross Via Fra' Paolo Sarpi on your right

By aeroplane from the Amerigo Vespucci Airport: The Volainbus Airport Transfers to Florence will take you directly to the Santa Maria Novella train station

By car: Take the southern exit (Firenze Sud) along the Autostrada del Sole (A1) motorway and go straight to the junction where you should turn left. Pass 5 traffic lights and turn on your right towards Via del Ghirlandaio (see the signboard of Hotel Lido) keep driving until you reach the last stretch of the street called Via Fra 'Paolo Sarpi. My apartment is in the building at no. 60

Marina´s and Arshad´s very tasteful and completely furnished apartment is ideal to get to know Florence, and also to relax away from the city noise. The description is 100% correct, we would also award a sixth star here. Dirk and Monika, Neuss/Germany

Apartment was clean. Very far from city centre.

Response from Marina:
