We have room for you all! (Sixteen is just the highest number of guests that we can choose when creating an ad for the place here). The real maximum is really up to you and your preferences - we just love having people enjoying the island life and the atmosphere out here - cause it's the best :)
If you're a whole bunch you can choose to rent the whole place but the most common thing is that you rent one, two or three houses. And then one more cabin with a shower and washing machine is always included.
So this place is great for both big and small families (we have all things you need for small kids since we have a pair of crazy twin babies ourselves:) or a hangout with friends or a romantic stay for just the two of you. Since we have a huge number of beds we've had a great deal of companies renting, hen parties, bachelor parties and actually wedding celebrations. Anything is possible!
AND HERE'S THE CABINS:
The bigger guesthouse can fit up to 12 people sleeping (including extra beds) - 5 in regular beds, 3 in sofa beds and the rest in extra (dubbel or single of your choice) beds. Here you'll have a great view over the water and the sunrise, a big terrace with double doors to the living room and you'll have a kitchen, three sofas - and more space than in the other guesthouses. We call this the middle cabin.
One of the other options have room for 10 people (depending on your preferences for sleeping two and two or one per bed). This is "Small cabin 2" is placed about 2 meters from the water and has windows, a terrace and a new big porch to/over the water. The view over the lake during sunrise actually makes you wanna set the alarm and at least look out the window from bed - at 3.30 in the morning :)
The third option is to rent another part of that building. You won't have the same main door or something and it's not wall to wall so in case we would have other guests (it has just happened once or twice) the only thing you will share with anyone staying in the other part is the big porch. But anyhow there's plenty of room and there's also a few terraces, one veranda and one more big porch on the yard - and then the awesome bridge that you can have your meals or just hangout on! This option is for about 6 people and here you have a small kitchen part - mostly used for freshening up - a microwave oven and a small fridge with an icebox. One curiositie is that Joey Tempest, the front figure of the famous rockband Europe, have stayed in this "Small cabin 1" a number of times :)
If we don't use the main building you can rent that house too - otherwise it's common that our guests wants to use the big kitchen in here for cooking, or the living room for hanging out by the fireplace in the autumn or early spring. Guests can also use the wine cellar on the back of this house for cooling whatever needs to be cold - in case you've filled up the fridge or if you just like the idea of old school cooling.
You can combine the different options and rent just the cabin you need, two or three of them or the whole place.
In any case you'll have your own terrace and if you rent the whole place you'll have four of them, plus a glazed veranda and two big porches.
You can lend or rent a boat of your own - or a kayak and a regular Canadian canoe.
You'll have a dwell nearby with fresh drinking water, tested every season and rated as mineral water!
You'll have a dishwasher in the big kitchen - even if you won't rent the big house.
You'll also have a washing machine and a hot water shower in the shower cabin next to the water, by the bridge - but you'll probably prefer taking a swim in the morning or before you go to bed - and of course a couple of times during the day :)
Right now we're building a new house with one or two bedrooms a new kitchen and hopefully a workshop.
We have a football field on the island, some traditional outdoor games and a couple of grilles for BBQ:ing.
Science the sun always shine out here some people just like to spend the time sunbathing but (even though the island is rather small) there is a lot of beautiful nature and trails to explore! And in any case there are a couple of places with totally awesome views that you definitely don't wanna miss during sunset! And then we have the waters of course. We've just renovated our big floating bridge so that it's now even broader and longer and we're pretty sure we must have some record going with this reaching over 30 meters out and even in to the neighbor township - which happens to be where the Swedish royal family lives so if you're afraid to get caught by some paparazzi guards you can always choose to sunbathe at another bridge nearby.
The fishing water out here is supposed to be one of the best in Sweden (and Sweden is famous for its fishing). And the water is so clean and fresh that you can drink it - the whole of Mälardalen (more than 2,5 million out of Swedens 9 million people) gets their drinking water from this place (and when Wladimir Putin visited he got a glas of it straight from the canal that runs from here through Stockholm downtown :)
As much or little as you like. We are a couple from (up north) Sundsvall - calm and safe and with a northern heart in the right place :) We've got a couple of 6 month old twins that rocks but since they don't even keep us up at night they probably won't disturb you with any screaming either.
The best part of the island is the nature and views - it's quiet and green everywhere. And what guests like the most about our yard particularly is that you can jump in the water at any time without having to plan or bring something anywhere else.
The neighbors are friendly and cheerful and not too close :) The woods and the lake are two nice neighbours!
Another great thing at our site is that it has so much of large open spaces (3000 sq m) but also a lot of different trees to make a nice shade over different parts during the day. The huge oak right in front of the main house is the most majestic tree on the island!
But obviously it's the waterfront location that attracts the most. New, large and long jetty, with a sofa, table and chairs. Great, dreamy, views to other islands and sun from early morning to late evening - and the best sunrise you could get - which you also can get a great view of through windows in all buildings.
We have some custom boats and two canoes.
The bus goes all the way to "Sluts bridge", where you take the boat over. There are ferryboat to order and you can borrow a boat from us (depending on if you can / want to learn how to drive a boat) but usually the easiest way is that we transport you with our big boat.
Both private, fenced, and public parking is right by the bridge.
Bromma Airport is up to an hour away, the golf course is on Ekerö and all the usual shops (pharmacy, liquor store, medical center, etc.) are in Ekerö center.
If you want cleaning or rent a boat it's 1000 SEK - and maybe some gas money if you're going out for a bigger trip or taking the boat camping. (The world's most popular soccer player, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has recently bought an island of his own in the neighborhood so maybe you want to pay him a visit :)
There is a lot of other beautiful islands and places to explore too but I'll point them out when you get here if you're interested!
Just leave the place as you found it (if you haven't paid for cleaning).
