Escape to Carmel and stay in this quaint private guest cottage only steps away from world famous town of Carmel by the Sea and a few blocks from the beautiful white sand beach. This cozy studio with queen bed offers everything you need for a romantic getaway for two or a private retreat for one. It has a gas log fireplace and a full kitchen with full size refrigerator and new gas oven & stove and small washer & dryer. Listen to the waves while you snuggle up under the cozy down comforter.

The space
This charming little guest cottage is on the same property as the main house and can be rented at the same time for larger groups. Check Airbnb listing for Solbakken Retreat. The cottage is a block from town and four blocks from the world famous Carmel beach, known for its soft white sand. The cottage is a small but cozy and charming space with good natural light from the windows and skylights. The main living area has a comfortable queen bed and will give you comfort while you are lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean waves. There is a small table with two chairs that can be used for dining or for or using as a desk for your computer. There are also two comfortable chairs for relaxing by the fire.

The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, coffee, coffee maker, microwave, blender and tea pot. There is a new gas stove that works great for larger baked creations, and also a convenient toaster oven frequently used more often for ease and convenience. After running up for groceries to the local Nielsen’s or Brunos’s market, you should have everything you need to make a nice meal.

The bathroom has a new shower with sliding glass doors. There is a closet with towels, hand towels, wash cloths and beach towels and a blow dryer.

The small room is used as an office and/or a dressing room. It has a small desk for using a laptop or as a dressing table for primping. There is a dresser and a new apartment size washer and dryer for your convenience.

The guest cottage is on the same property as the main house, but both have complete privacy from each other. It is a completely detached separate cottage with its own front entrance and back door to an outdoor sitting area with a BBQ. It is only steps away from town with world class restaurants, galleries, boutiques and wine tasting galore.

There is wifi available

Off street parking is available for two cars on the right side of the driveway and only steps away from your front door. Please keep in mind there might be another guest staying in the main house next door that would be using the same parking area on the left side. There should be plenty of room for four vehicles, although I’ve seen six cars fit! When parking, please park on the right side. If you have two cars, park one in front of the other. Although, the cottage is completely a stand alone building, you might see other guests from the house next door. Please give each other privacy.

Carmel is a great walking town. It is one square mile and can be walked entirely (with good walking shoes) within the day.

This is a small town with a big personality. Carmel has so much to offer guests and locals. There are numerous places to visit and enjoy. You will never be at a loss for things to do. Among the many local events, art galleries, wine shops , there are also many things to do just a short drive away either by car or local transportation.
