My place is close to Turangi town centre, the world famous Tongariro River, local walk ways, great restaurants & cafes. Use my home as a base if you plan to do the Tongariro Crossing or go up the mountain for skiing, snowboarding or try your hand at trout fishing. You’ll love my place for the outdoors space, the comfy beds, unlimited WIFI, the kitchen, and the light. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and big groups.

The space
Welcome to The Roost.

The Roost is completely self contained so you have full privacy to enjoy your stay.

There is a large fully equipped modern kitchen for you to cater for yourselves or alternatively there are cafes, restaurants and takeaways located in the main town centre (approx 2 mins drive away). There is a large Island bar with bar stools for sitting and chatting while food is being prepared or there is a 6 seater dining table. The kitchen doors open up to an outdoor BBQ area with large BBQ table and Umbrella.

The Roost has 3 large bedrooms.

Bedroom 1: The master room has 1 Queen bed with a tall boy and portable clothes stand.

Bedroom 2: The second room has a privacy wall that divides the room into 2 spaces. The wall does not have a door so essentially it is still considered one bedroom. On one side of the provac wall it has 2 single beds, a large tall boy, and a ranch slider that opens to the outdoor area. On the other side of the privacy wall there is a double bed and a tallboy. The room has an oil heater, fan and clothes rack.

Bedroom 3: The third bedroom has a Queen bed with lowboy storage for your clothes. It has a ranch slider that opens up to its own private patio.

The Roost sleeps 8 people (when 2 people share a double or queen bed). The beds all have mattress and pillow protectors with fresh clean linen on the beds according to your sleeping requirements. There is a fold out couch bed which ywill comfortably sleep 1 adult or 2 children.

There is a BBQ on the side of the house for you to use, with a large BBQ table and chairs.

The kitchen / dinning room has an electric fire place which provides glorious warmth for those crisp nights in winter and there are 3 fans for cooling in the summer. There are wall heaters/coolers in 2 of the rooms and oil fin heaters in the others.

The house will have fresh bath towels, hand towels, face cloths.

There are many free activities located nearby for you to experience or simply chill and enjoy the breathtaking scenery.

The Roost is located under the Perch nestled on a hillside just 2 minutes drive from the main town centre so has the advantage of country views and stunning bird life with modern conveniences close by.

There are 2 Raleigh bikes and 3 mountain bikes available for use. These bikes are not serviced or suitable for the mountain trails but useful for the scenic rides.

There is a DVD, CD Player, TV with Dish TV for use in the lounge. You may watch any of the CD's in the cabinet. There is unlimited WIFI for use during your stay.

Our property is nestled in the countryside with beautiful scenery.

There is a portacot available by prior arrangement, however you will need to supply your own linen for the portacot.

If you require a smaller accommodation look up the The Perch, located above the Roost which sleeps 4 - 6 comfortably (both houses are completely private and independant of each other).
