This is a unique one bedroom Victorian terrace house with a small roof garden, situated by the vibrant and multicultural Mill Road. It is within easy walking distance of the city centre (10 mins) with all the history, culture and shopping that Cambridge offers.

The space

The house was given its unique character by architect students, over 20 years ago, with their initials carved into the railing of the terrace. It gives you a hygglig space with character in a perfect location for all your needs. Mill Road provides you with independent ethnic food shops and restaurants and a lively alternative feel.

We headed to Cambridge for a wedding and Elizabeth's place ticked all the boxes. You are not far from the main town centre (10/15mins walk), Mill Road itself has an array of different shops, restaurants and cafes to keep you entertained. The directions from Elizabeth made it a breeze to find and the flat is a quirky space filled with character and in a very quiet spot. The flat has a roof terrace which is a great space to sit out and enjoy breakfast or a coffee, weather permitting of course. Overall it was a great place to stay and would thoroughly recommend it.

Great place conveniently placed for access to both the railway station and all parts of the town. Perfect for someone travelling alone - safe and snug.

Lovely homely house with all the nessesary mod cons. In a great location, close to the city, near some interesting little shops. The roof terrace was a wonderful perk as I didn't expect to get outside space so close to the city. Would recommend x

I cannot commend this accommodation more highly and just wish there were seven stars to select! It was just perfect in every way. Elizabeth gave fantastic instructions and advice prior to our arrival. The property was wonderful - interesting and quirky, with a wonderful roof terrace where we enjoyed morning coffee in the sunshine. We enjoyed all of the home comforts with the best mattress ever! The location was central - lovely cafes and bars within 5 minutes walk and the welcome pack was an additional treat. We very much look forward to a return visit if Elizabeth is happy to have us!

We enjoyed a 3 night stay in Elizabeth's lovely home in Cambridge. Elizabeth was very good in communication pre-trip with any queries we had, and checkin (which involves a key collection) was well explained and straightforward. We didn't get to meet Elizabeth in person but there was a warm welcome in the house with fruit, bread, milk, cheese and eggs all left for us and plenty of cereals as well. The house was very cosy, clean and well furnished. Bed was really comfortable! Well equipped kitchen and a roof terrace which we would have enjoyed more in better weather. Location is fine and all of the city centre is easily reached on foot. Only slight drawback is a handheld shower with mixing taps which we found a little awkward. We were also very grateful that Elizabeth was so flexible with our checkout time. Overall a lovely home and we thoroughly enjoyed staying there.

Response from Elizabeth:
Looking back at my description of my home, I don't think I have indicated that there was a 'stand-up' shower. I looked for a place where that could be indicated but found none. There is a bath and a short shower attachment to do things like wash one's hair or even feet in very hot weather. In my house rules, I make it very clear 'The shower cannot be used as a 'stand-under it' shower. Perhaps I'll convert it sometime. Sorry if you are are a 'shower' person. If you are put out by this, let me know - but nicely!' Not sure what else I can do to make it clear! Future guests - be prepared! I'm happy with the way it is but may convert it at a later date. Two people out of all my guests have indicated that found the present set-up awkward. Sorry.
