Welcome to our 1895 farmhouse, in the village of Sugar Hill (pop. 618), nestled high in the White Mountains. It’s like going back in time.
Great summer retreat, or great adventure base camp.
The farmhouse has a great front porch, facing east for morning sun. There also is a deck around the side, looking out on pasture and woodlands, where wildlife may appear.
Indoors, there is a modern kitchen, a large dining and living area, a bathroom and laundry. Upstairs are three bedrooms, a bathroom, and another living area with television. There is cable and wi-fi service.
The house is in the village. Up the street is Harman’s Country Store, famous for its cheese. Next door is the town’s 1840 Meetinghouse, where on a summer night you may hear chamber music in concert. Out back are acres of pasture and woodlands and trails, where we walk the dog and meet the wildlife.
This is a perfect summer retreat, to the serenity and beauty of the mountains. It’s a perfect home base to explore the north country’s cultural gems and its scenic drives, antique shops, country stores and restaurants. And this is the epicenter of outdoor adventure – great hiking and biking, swimming and kayaking and fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, glider rides, tennis and more.
Guests have access to the whole property, except the garage.

Years ago, my husband and I fell in love with an old farmhouse here in the heart of the beautiful White Mountains. It has been our country retreat, a place to get away, slow down, and enjoy a simpler life. And it has been a beehive of activity, for us and our kids and grandkids, enjoying so many great outdoor adventures. We’d like your family to share this wonderful experience.
