Due to circumstances beyond my control I was not back in time from my work to get the room ready in time. I was outside of phone network area and couldn’t communicate with my son or the guests to convey my late situation.
My son on guests arrival, and upon realising I had not completed Room preparation and was out of reach, offered the guests the opportunity to wait while he prepared the room himself. They declined and were rude and unpleasant to him he reports.
My son was quite happy to refer them to other accommodation as he found them unpleasant and rather unforgiving of a tricky situation.
Had the guests communicated further with me directly I would have been happy to give them one free night of the two booked for the delay in room preparation but they didn’t respond to my communications later. Having then spoken with my son I feel it was best they went elsewhere. I am sad I couldn’t make them happy but many of my guests throughly enjoy their stay and I will focus on those.
