The space

This artfully designed, clutter free space is a cozy retreat from city life. The 750 square foot cabin has one bedroom with a new king size bed, fresh linens and and a new 8,000 BTU portable air conditioner for those warm nights. Enjoy an equipped kitchen for cooking, laundry room and bathroom with a tub/shower and fresh, clean towels. The living room area has a new West Elm sofa bed that can sleep two. No AC in the living room as of yet, but plenty of fans and the bedroom AC will assist in cooling the space at night. Lounge chairs with quilts in the back of the cabin offer a great viewing spot for the sunset through the Joshua trees or stargazing at night. An outdoor sofa and ottoman on the front patio is the perfect spot to catch the sunrise with your coffee at hand. A great sleepover spot after a show at Pappy and Harriet's or extend your stay and explore the surrounding area where there is a lot to discover.

Coming in the fall of 2017, a detached studio for art and or sleeping at the back of the property.

Interaction with guests

Pets must be pre-approved. Please contact me before instant booking if you want to bring your pet.
At times, I will be available to meet with you when you arrive, otherwise the key will be in a lockbox on the back door.
I stay in the far back cabin, but you will have complete privacy and I will not need to access the house.

Other things to note

There are no amenities or shopping in Pioneertown, but Yucca Valley is a quick drive down the hill for your shopping needs. To save time, you might want to shop for food and water before driving up to the cabin. There is an apartment sized fridge in the kitchen and an ice box in the laundry room if you require more space.

The cabin is relatively easy to find in the day, but at night it can be tricky because there are no street lights. I will provide detailed directions once you have made your booking.

Coming in the fall, the art studio space for your use at the back of the property will be an extra option to choose from with your stay. It has a small sink and tables, an easel and some art supplies for those moments of inspiration.

Artful design, warm and cozy, secluded get away. Roxanne is very generous and kind, she offered tons of amazing tips of the area. I will definitely recommend people to stay with one suggestion: pls get a 4 wheel drive and check before it gets pitch black:) little price to pay for an otherworldly getaway.

Roxanne was a wonderful host, providing valuable information on the area and making sure we felt at home! The space is very comfortable and plenty of bottled water was made readily available. Gazing out at the stars over the desert at night was a treat at this beautiful getaway.

My wife and I loved this desert cabin. The beautifully appointed, well equipped cabin and comfortable King size bed made our stay perfect. Star gazing from the front patio was amazing. We also used the shady back patio area for dinning out in the shade. We highly recommend Roxanne's place in Pioneertown and will be returning the next time we head to a show at Pappy's and Harriet's or just want to take another desert retreat. Roxanne was a fantastic host, responding quickly when we had a plumbing issue. The house is so warm and inviting. No matter the temperature, Roxanne's cabin is well equipped to handle it. It was so quiet at night and the stars were breathtaking. We just laid on the chaise lounges, enjoying the peace. I would definitely stay at Roxanne's again.

Great stay. We had privacy and so secluded we had a great view of the stars. The home itself was lovely and we loved the decoration theme. Everything was great. Can't wait to come back in the winter.

You will need a car with a little bit of clearance to get to this "off the beaten path" location. Be sure to follow the instructions on how to get there or you may end up on a not so great road three wheelin' your Subaru. All in all, WELL WORTH THE TRIP!!! Beautifully decorated cabin with a peaceful view.

Response from Roxanne:
Thank you Amanda! It was great having you stay with us. You can access the cabin with any type of car, just follow my directions using either Gamma Gulch or Acacia and you won't have any trouble. They are the two roads that will take you to the cabin without issue. We had a lot of rain this season so Eastline Road heading west has one small area that is rutted, but fun to take if you have a 4 wheel drive.
