Farmhouse (on right) is a 1600 sq ft build with a chic rustic industrial farmhouse vibe-Typically sleeps 6, but can accommodate more if we add rollaway/cot beds, air mattress or mats (a charge applies after 6 people). If you are looking for a place to gather, relax or be active, come and make some memories. NOTE: Most holidays need 3 day min. Christmas needs 4 day min. Venue closed Jan-March

The space
This modern/industrial Farmhouse sits in a private rural setting just 12 minutes away from Jordan Creek Mall with many top retail stores and an array of fabulous restaurants along with many coffee houses in the area to choose from. Only 2 miles from Interstate 35/80 which offers easy access to Ames IA, Kansas City, Chicago, MN and Omaha. Less than 20 minutes away from Des Moines International Airport. Less than 35 minutes from Lakeside Casino and Prairie Meadows Casino - Adventureland Amusement Park is approx 30 minutes out - 1/1/2 miles from the Great Western Bike Trail with endless miles of trails, hiking right outside your door, fire pit on back patio area for yummy s'mores and engaging conversation - Washer/Dryer can be made available with a 5 day minimum stay. We will supply a good amount of wood (for campfire/wood burning stoves), but please feel free to bring some in. Central air through-out along with 4 ceiling fans - wood burning stove for those chilly nights and in-floor heating under the concrete floors when needed. Kitchen counters are white quartz with top of the line appliances. Refrigerator even has a french door. Two sinks in the kitchen for your prep and convenience - Two full baths with one being a walk in glass shower for that spa like feeling. The two bedrooms are fully furnished with comfortable cozy Queen sized beds. Blue tooth/blue ray home theater with satellite tv and surround sound for music lovers/movie night. You will find the large L-shaped sectional in the living room comfortable and roomy and can act as a bed if needed (sheets and or blanket provided pending guest count/reservation). The loft area (highest point next to the wall is approx 5'5") and has 1 twin bed & 1 single sleeper (see photos). Makes for a fun kid zone! Extra bed options would include: single roll-away/cot beds, nice fold out mats and or an air mattress, but we would need to know to add these options.
All of the windows (except for kitchen) have (black-out) window treatments for your privacy as needed. We are conveniently located right off Interstate 35/80 and close to many amenities. Access to 'the Farmhouse has 1 mile of gravel off the main Hwy. Convenience of key-less entry upon arrival (codes are changed after each guest).

Downtown Des Moines is less than 25 minutes out - A Farmers Market held every Saturday morning. Downtown also has the opportunity of the East Village where you will find lots of shops (retail, antique, specialty) along with awesome restaurants. Grays Lake offers a beautiful view and a walking, jogging path entirely around the lake for your enjoyment which is less than 20 minutes away. West Des Moines has a wonderful Farmers Market on Thursday evenings for you to take in. The Iowa State Fair is in August each year and is one of/or the top rated fairs around. The Fairgrounds are approx 35 minutes out. There are several wonderful wineries in the area to choose from also. Public Pool (Norwalk) is approx 8 minutes away with many other public pools within 20 minutes of 'the Farmhouse.

We are a husband and wife team (with 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters) that have had the dream & vision of The Farmhouse & Venue germinating in our mind and hearts for over a decade. We started building our dream and opened it in 2017. The Farmhouse & Venue sits on a Century Farm that I (Lori) grew up on. Most of this build was constructed by our own hands. We believe that there is something inherently good and rewarding in hard work and perseverance. We also believe that if you have a dream, you should pursue it with all your heart. We are passionate about giving you a place where you can fall out of the hustle and bustle of daily life and just slow down in a very private setting. We enjoy people, horses, biking, hiking and everything to do with the great outdoors. We would be honored to host you and promise to take great care of you!
