We also have another listing which is adjacent to our house.

Guest access

The Garden cottage is a completely independent place with it's own front door. Guests have full access to the three acres of gardens which includes play areas, summer house, barbecue area as well as the stream and the animals. Guests are welcome to use the charcoal barbecue and fires plus the gas barbecue (but please ask us first on this one so we can check the gas).

Interaction with guests

The family live adjacent to the Garden Cottage in the attached house and will usually be here to welcome guests (if not full details regarding entry to the cottage will be given beforehand). Help & advice given on local area and things to do if needed. We like travelling & like staying in places that are friendly & relaxed. We hope you will feel that way in our accommodation . We had the most amazing stay in this historic Devon cottage. The inside was beautifully restored and so tastefully decorated to suit the age of the property. The kitchen had everything you could possibly want, and the hosts had left both chicken and duck eggs for us, as well as milk and even a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. The children were over joyed with the outside of the property. They loved sailing the hosts little handmade wooden boats in the gorgeous stream that runs through the property, jumping on the trampoline, playing in the cubby, and collecting the chicken eggs each day. We were so in love with the house it was hard to leave. The hosts were fantastic, they live in the Devon long house attached, and were happy to answer any queries and offer suggestions for us to explore the Jurassic coast. They were kind enough to tell us all about the amazing history of the property. Highly recommend this property to anyone visiting East Devon and the Jurassic Coast, we would love to stay again.

A great cottage to stay in! A very handy location for exploring seaside towns but near enough to Exeter to make it easy to get to. The cottage was very clean and Jill very kindly left us with eggs and wine. Communication was great and nothing was too much trouble.

Jill & Steve are such great hosts. We loved the cottage, it's decorated to a very high standard and the complimentary eggs, milk and a bottle of wine in the fridge which were lovely touches. I also loved how well provisioned the kitchen was, with all the utensils I could need, along with some basics like salt, pepper, oil and cleaning products.

We had a lovely time at Jill & Steve's cottage. It is equipped and furnished to a high standard. A definite home from home. Jill kindly met us one morning so we could feed their hens and lambs as well as grab some eggs. Had it rained less we would have spent more time in the garden, which is excellent for children to play in. Our son very much enjoyed the toys on offer to play with. It is located within 10-20 mins drive to all the nearby attractions. I would absolutely recommend this place to others. Thank you again Jill for a lovely stay.
