Castle View Cabin is your own private retreat in the White Mountains of Northern NH, open May through October. The cabin is off the grid and is surrounded by forest, with spectacular views of Mt. Madison, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Jefferson. This beautiful 3 room cabin is very private, with no other buildings, roads, or people within view. It is truly a mountain getaway, close to multiple hiking trails.

The space
There is a comfy queen-sized bed in the bedroom. All linens / blankets /pillows provided. The bedroom has a comfortable reading chair. The living room has two couches. The kitchen has a table and chairs. All rooms have spectacular views of the mountains. You can lie in bed and gaze at the mountains. You can also enjoy the view from the chairs on the porch or the hammock in the yard.

The cabin is accessed by a short (330 feet) hiking trail on a gentle incline. It is rocky in places.
If you have significant mobility issues, we advise you not to rent this cabin.

There is a well appointed dine-in kitchen, with a 2 burner gas stove, pots and pans for cooking, tea kettle, French press, drip coffee maker, stove top toaster, utensils, dishes, etc. We provide coffee, tea, hot cocoa, as well as cooking oil and spray, sugar, a number of spices, etc. There is a small herb garden. Help yourself!

Cell signal appears to vary by carrier. Verizon has a strong signal. Other carriers vary in signal strength.

The cabin is a dry cabin and is off the grid.

As there is no electricity, there is solar power to charge electronics (and we have a charging station set up. Note - the charging station needs to be turned off when not in use or battery will drain and not charge your electronics). There is also a back up battery charger to use if needed.

We have rechargeable lights, flashlights, headlamps, fan, and a few candles.

There is no running water in the cabin, but we provide water for drinking, cooking and doing dishes (and these are in the cabin). The sink has a water foot pump. There is a cooler and we will provide some initial ice.
More water can be brought to you if needed.

There are umbrellas and rain ponchos for use if needed.

There is a shower tent outside that has a re-chargeable water pump and an on demand propane water heater, with a hand held sprayer. The water pressure is not high, but it will get the job done. There are bath towels, washcloths and beach towels in the cabin. I have provided body wash and 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner.

There is free swimming about 2 miles down the road.

There is a composting toilet in an outbuilding. It is not smelly and is good for the environment. The bathroom is quite cute.

The cabin is very private as you can see no roads or other houses and you are surrounded by trees and forest. You have a front row view to the mountains. The cabin is a little less than 1/4 mile away from Rt. 2, so you may hear some intermittent traffic sounds.

You can enjoy the mountain view from a comfy hammock!

There is an area for a campfire, and I provide campfire cooking sticks. The fire must be attended and extinguished when done for the night. I provide a bucket filled with water next to the fire area. There is some fire wood provided. You can also collect wood from the surrounding forest, or purchase wood at Walmart or other locations. There is a hatchet and an axe, and other tools.

Please see pictures for additional details.

I recommend arriving before dark if possible.

There is no wifi at the cabin, but it is available for free 2.5 miles down the road at the Randolph Library, even if the library is closed.

Guest access
Full 24 hour private access to the whole cabin and everything in it. Well stocked kitchen with dishes, cooking pots and pans, tea kettle, utensils, wine glasses, etc. Help yourself to coffee, tea and other beverages, as well as breakfast items, spices, cooking oils, etc. There is a cooler to keep any food you bring cool. Water for cooking and dishes provided and separate bottled drinking water provided.

Check in time is 3 PM or later; however, guests can message me to check to see if available earlier in the day.

I recommend arriving before dark because of the short hike through the woods to the cabin.

Other things to note
This cabin is captivating, relaxing, private, unique, and we hope you love it as much as we do.

There is an additional 9% Meals and rentals tax added to rental fees.

NO PETS. Please respect this for the health of our guests with allergies.

I love living amidst the mountains in Northern NH. There is no place I'd rather be. I'm married and have 1 daughter. I work as a primary care Physician Assistant. I'm a musician on my church worship team, which I adore. I love animals and doing various arts and craft projects. My daughter and I are sci-fi geeks.
