A delight! My partner and I were looking for a restorative weekend getaway, and this far exceeded our expectations! We spent the days reading in the fish house and walking around the beautiful property, and it got cold enough to enjoy a cozy fire in the cabin at night. It rained the first night, and sleeping in the loft with the sound of the storm on the tin roof was magical. Maude was a friendly and accommodating host - we hope to be back soon!

Cedar Dam was exactly the peaceful landing spot I needed. I spent the bulk of my time in the Fish House, soaking up the sun and watching all kinds of birds - herons, kingfishers, hawks, and visiting with the charmingly lovable Admiral Featherington. Maude is a kind, personable host. I was pretty burned out when I arrived, and she was welcoming, but also gave me the room I needed to breathe, and for that, I was super grateful. Great campfire pit, fresh, clean outhouse, and the outdoor shower is luxurious and awesome! If I had a quibble about anything, it would be the neighborhood dogs barking through the evenings. The property feels very secluded (in that you can’t see any nearby houses) but neighbors are closer than you think, so sunset-campfire time has its own soundtrack. To be clear, I couldn’t hear any of that inside the cabin (I slept like a log!)- just outside at the fire pit...and if I hadn’t been there solo, it might have been less obvious. Note to self: next time, bring the uke! Or company! :)

This place is incredible! Free access to fire pit, fish house with fishing (toss back the bass) and paddle boards for rent. The cabin is so cozy, super comfy bed, and the decor is perfect for the beautiful scenery. Book this cabin if you need more than a (URL HIDDEN) experience that won't soon be forgotten.

I was looking for a place to be away from the business of life and this place fit the bill. Basic, Quiet, Affordable and Surrounded by Woods. If your looking for any of the above, this place will suit you just fine. Keep in mind that both the bathroom and shower are outside of your room. The Fish House was a nice bonus. Host was on the premises and very helpful

If you NEED running water where you're sleeping, this might not be your choice, but this place is so cozy and has a lot to offer!

The drive out to Maudes place was nearly as scenic and enjoyable as the property itself. It was easy to find and her directions were very clear, making it nearly impossible to get lost (which is a specialty of mine). I would add that there are some small dogs that get let out in the afternoons so be mindful of that because they do sometimes dart out from the underbrush, other than that the roads are easily traversed. Anyway, upon arrival we were greeted and shown around the property -- she was very welcoming and friendly. The facilities were clean, including the outhouse, and it was all very gorgeous. The mosquitos were not too bad, but we had bug repellent and a candle to burn on the dock. It was quiet throughout most of the day and evening -- every so often we would hear dogs or a rooster in the distance, but they always quieted down quickly. We caught a bunch of fish and actually brought home two bass to enjoy for dinner. Over all this place was fantastic -- we were reluctant to leave and are eager to go back for a longer stay!
