The space

An amazing space in the heart of Wicker Park/Ukrainian Village,Chicago ..Perfect hub for a vacation spot or the business traveler who doesn't want to stay at a stuffy hotel!!! six very close blocks to public transportation (both the Damen and Division st Blue Line stops),great restaurants, bars, clubs, galleries, live music venues etc...conveniently located in the center of this lovely neighborhood yet still on a super quiet, safe and BEAUTIFUL street! really,it's crazy pretty!

both artistic & very easy going, clean and super friendly.super nice and cozy private room is set off from the rest of the apartment and the second guest room,so privacy is not an issue.also a "pet free" zone in the event that you have aletgies, this room is pet free also offers a new full bed, shelving and closet space for your things and so on.
the main space has wifi, cable tv and and pretty spectacular reading room,a second living room and full dining are perfect to make yourself comfortable in.also i have a full old school-ish kitchen at your disposal if you so desire to cook. this is one of three rooms that i list. i have two a/c units, one of which is portable. If you run hot, please let me know,as i typically do not need it.
i have lived in the area for 20 years and more than welcome to help guide you in your experience here or,leave you to discover on your own!
i love hosting very much as well as travelling and look forward to sharing my space with you!

Interaction with guests

I live here but mostly keep to myself...a quiet and friendly introvert, for sure! sometimes i will bake and have bread/muffins/or sweet treats for guests.ALWAYS have coffee or tea on hand for you.happy to guide you to all that Chicago has to offer during your stay or to leave you be and discover on your own.
Being a shared space, you will also have the potential to interact with other guests if you choose to do so!

Other things to note

I have two adorable, sweet and social kittens, Sam & Mila. I keep one of the rooms pet free to accommodate my guests who are allergic, but they roam around the main space freely.

We are glad we picked this place. Its a lovely neighbourhood and such a beautiful house, we wish we could stay longer. Stephanie was also a great host, very helpful and friendly. Thank you for hosting us!

Stephanie is a very considerate host making sure we arrive well and making luggage collection after check out possible. Moreover, her personality made this visit an interesting experience. Certainly a place of character as opposed to standard lodgings! The neighborhood is very nice though a bit of a long walk from the station when it is raining.

I enjoyed my two days in Chicago a lot: architect boats tour, Hancock and Willis building, arts institute, fields museum, navy peer, water taxi... This is a nice accommodation to start your exploration of Chicago.

The house was beautiful and clean, close to everything and Stephanie was welcoming! The main thing is that there is only one bathroom for potentially up to six people in the house, which can be awkward.

Great home base to enjoy Chicago! Wonderful community close to public transport to explore key Chicago landmarks but quiet enough to end the day enjoying neighborhood cafe/restaurants. Great private room with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Stephanie was a great host. Very helpful with suggestions and accommodating. Highly recommend this place.

Stephanie's place is a great apartment if you're looking to spend significant time in the Wicker Park environs. It's artful and comfy, and Stephanie is a very welcoming and warm hostess. If you're planning on using public transit for most of your stay, just know it's a short walk to bus stops and approx 15-20min walk to the L trains, which are easy to use if you're wanting to get out to the museums and downtown. If you're a light sleeper or sensitive to sound, I would recommend bringing some ear plugs, only because it's a beautiful old building with a lot of sound bleed from neighbors (it's a lovely quiet neighborhood, so you won't hear ambulance sirens, etc). For my short stay, it didn't bother me at all. Her cats are surprisingly comfortable with strangers and very, very sweet! We stayed in Stephanie's cat-free room, which is what is advertised above. I definitely recommend Stephanie's apartment for a foot-loose and fancy-free stay!

creative Chicago native with an amazing space to share. been hosting via Airbnb for well over 5 yrs now and absolutely love it. an avid traveler myself, i very much enjoy meeting new people and helping guests get the most out of their time here as I have been in my own travels.
On a hiatus from interior design consulting,.. I am an artist and a quiet extrovert.
This space is a very special home with a serene and peaceful quality about it that happens to be in the center of the Wicker Park/Ukrainian village happenings. I love it here and thus far, most everyone who has stayed does as well!!
