The Studio is a wonderful, peaceful little hideaway, the countryside views are simply stunning. Its private, clean, comfortable and quiet. A short walk from one of the best pubs in the UK (The Duke of Cumberland at Henley ***booking is advised especially at weekends****) and 2 miles from Midhurst.

The space

The Studio at Verdley is a delightful hidden get away. Situated on top of Henley Hill it boasts stunning views and a long private driveway with electric gates to access. It stands on its own with a private entrance, accessed via a shared (with the main house and the 2 bed cottage (also for rental) car parking area. From the car parking area there are 3 brick steps and a gravel pathway leading to the private terrace. The studio doors open straight into the cute country style bedroom, where there is a standard double bed, kitchenette to one side and very small shower room with a loo the other side. There is no space for a basin in the shower room but there is a sink and mirror in the kitchenette. We furnish the kitchen with a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and all cutlery, crockery and glassware. Tea and coffee, milk, butter and jam will be provided. There is no indoor dining area, if the weather is nice the terrace has a table and four chairs. If it's not so warm there are many great eateries a short car drive away and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction! The wifi is not included as coverage isn't great on top of the hill, however if it will reach your device I'll gladly provide the code, 3g and 4g work quite well. There is a dvd player and a selection of DVDs in the room which guests are welcome to use.
If required I can provide a travel cot for a baby/toddler, there is room in the bedroom (just!)
The charming little property is hidden away, very quiet and peaceful in a beautiful part of West Sussex. Ideally situated a mile and a half from Cowdray Park polo club, approx. 10 miles from Goodwood and 2 miles from Midhurst.

Guest access

In the peak summer there is a large heated swimming pool (open for residents of Verdley in the summer) and a yoga studio (unfurnished, so if you'd like to use this please provide your own equipment). Use of the swimming pool is seasonal generally May - Sept, the pool area is used by the main house and the other rental cottage too. It is very big and very deep, so confident swimmers only.

Other things to note

Henley is a fantastic location for keen walkers and Hikers, its only a short drive away to the main south downs way. The house sits on the Serpents Trail network of footpaths, running from Haslemere to Petersfield. Meaning you can boot up and head out without getting in the car! The hiking is fantastic as we are within the South Downs national park area of outstanding natural beauty, I would be happy to share my local knowledge and point you in the right direction for local hikes/pub walks or just a stroll across the countryside!

Such a sweet annex on a beautiful estate! Phillipa was so easy to communicate with and we had everything we needed. Would love to come back in summer and make use of the yoga room and pool! Cracking pub down the road too. Definitely worth a trip, thanks for having us! C+M

Phillipa’s annexe was absolutely perfect. Beautiful views over the South Downs and close to local pubs, walks and amenities. The bed was very comfortable and she even provided a lovely little breakfast. The best part was her local knowledge. She pointed us in the direction of a great walking spot which was just what we were looking for.

Phillipa was friendly and very efficient with all communication. The accommodation was small but as described, very clean and tidy, well presented, the kitchen was well equipped, there was quality linen and towels and the DVDs were a great idea. Phillipa had provided a freshly baked loaf, butter, jams, tea, coffee, sugar, cereals, milk and biscuits which was very much appreciated. The whole stay was perfect for our needs. The views from the terrace was wonderful. We would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation!

Phillipa's place was nothing short of magical! We were only there one night, but it was clean cozy and had two sweet pups as the welcoming committee! I would definitely recommend this space!

About Phillipa

We've lived at Verdley Hill since 2006 and love the area, We are a busy family with 3 young boys. The boys are rugby and cricket crazy, I am into horses, especially racing, I have horses of my own and ride as often as I can! We are easy going, fun loving people and like to think that we are friendly and approachable. We look forward to welcoming you to stay in our property.
