I cannot stress what a gem this place is! You have access to entire castle all to yourself. The bedroom was beautifully redone with still an authentic feel. I felt like a little kid being able to explore the grounds and roam through the castle ruins. We got in very late and Jean Claude was still gracious enough to meet us. I could not recommend this place enough I will definitely come back and stay here again.

Jean Claude's Kinds Chamber was above and beyond our expectations! My partner and I had the most fabulous night in the Kings Chamber. Jean Claude was an incredible host, providing us with wine on arrival, breakfast in the morning, and even booked us a dinner reservation for when we arrived! He was very kind, flexible and accomodating, especially when our plans were changed. All in all, I highly recommend Jean Claudes place as a 'must do' for anyone travelling in the region - we will definitely try to come back! Thanks again! From Gemma and Brad

The kings chamber was spectacular! It really makes you feel like you were in the 1500's. Thomas was amazing and Jean Claude was very helpful and hospitable! My husband and I had a wonderful time.

A great welcome to a unique place. A sixteenth century castle partly ruined but in course of painstaking restoration. The room is very comfortable and well equipped. It is located in the one part of the castle that has been (almost) fully restored. It has ancient stone walls, a wonderful stone vaulted ceiling and original brick floors, which are softened with rugs. The owner has a (very) long term project in progress to restore the whole building. To any lover of ancient buildings it is a great treat to stay there. Jean Claude was most courteous and hospitable. He entertained us to a glass of wine when we discussed his 'Grand Project' and in the morning served us a delicious breakfast with fresh croissants and strong coffee. Altogether a wonderful place to stay with a hospitable and generous host.

This was our favorite place in France! From Jean Claude's warm welcome to the fabulous breakfast, and including a stroll around the grounds and a room furnished so carefully and thoughtfully, a true castle (URL HIDDEN) is superb.

One of the best airbnbs I've stayed in. After weeks of researching unique stays in the Loire region, I found Jean Claude's listing. We choose the best place! An experience, more than just accomodation. The room and bathroom were better than the pictures and the grounds were beautiful. Jean Claude and his wife were such warm, hospitable people. They prepared a lovely french breakfast for us and reserved a table at a great restaurant for our dinner. Unforgettable!
