The space
We provide visitors with information about local attractions and good quality products, while serving local population as a facility for selling their domestic produce. The Center is managed by Greenways, an association for supporting sustainable development, which invested significant
effort and, through several projects, managed to fully refurbish the devastated former school building. Besides establishing and managing the Center, Greenways also works on developing thematic walking, cycling and hiking routes in the area, maintaining the Sana river sources, developing organic agricultural production and promotion of the entire region.

Location

Gornja Pecka, Republika Srpska, Bosnia & Herzegovina

Pecka village is the home of the source of Sana river
which, with its three mayor springs and the estavelle Mracaj (pronounced like „mrachay”), presents a real hydrological gem. Moreover, the source of another river, called Pliva, is located only 15 kilometers from Pecka. There is a string of rocks placed right above the Center. The village was named after those rocks, and now the string presents the largest natural climbing site in Bosnia and Hercegovina. In the ancient Roman period, there was a road through the area, and a settlement called Sarnade at the place of today’s
Gornja Pecka. There are ten marked cycling routes and even more walking
ones spreading on the parts of the old Roman, and other macadam roads in
Pecka and neighboring villages. Via Dinarica Green Trail also goes through this area. The peaks of high mountains such as Dimitor, Vitorog, Klekovaca and Šator are visible and easily accessed from Pecka.
