Quiet period flat in the Finnieston area of Glasgow's West End, on ground floor level, our old family home. Situated in a tranquil cul-de-sac, St Vincent Crescent is an architectural gem set a mere few hundred yards from the popular bars and restaurants which have put Finnieston on the map of late. The SECC/Hydro are 10 mins walk away. For those who enjoy more leisurely pursuits, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Huntarian Museum and Kelvingrove Park are also short walks away.

The space

Our old family home provides a quiet, comfortable retreat from the business of the city. Accommodation for guests is on one level on the ground floor and comprises of 3 bedrooms (two double rooms and one twin room), kitchen, bathroom and living room. Entry is via the main door with four steps up from street level. The bathroom has an electric shower over the bath. The kitchen has all amenities and small table. A larger dining table is situated in the hall. Basic foodstuffs such as tea, coffee and milk are available, as well as a few breakfast items should you wish to use them. TV and DVDs are available in the living room and WiFi throughout the flat. A cot and high chair are available (and a bed-settee in the larger double room may be used for children who prefer to sleep close to their parents).

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire flat: living room, kitchen, bathroom and 3 bedrooms. There is a small play-park 3 minutes walk away where you can sit and children can play. The larger Kelvingrove Park is a further short walk away.

Interaction with guests

Both Gerry and I are more than happy to help in any way we can to ensure that your stay in Glasgow is an enjoyable one. We lived in this flat for over 35 years, raising our large family, so we know and love this area very well. We love walking and will gladly advise on places you might like to visit during your stay.

Other things to note

Books are plentiful as Gerry was a second-hand bookseller before he retired. Children's books, toys and DVDs are available on request.

A very comfortable and spacious place. Very close to plenty of pubs and restaurants and only 20 minutes walk to the centre. Frances was an excellent host and was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay again if I end up back in Glasgow

This is a beautiful flat in a very grand terrace in Finnieston, perfectly located between the city centre and the West End. Frances could not have been more helpful, letting us check in early and out late, to suit our trains. The pictures don't do the flat justice - it combines a real grandness, with high ceilings, ornate cornices etc, with the warmth and welcome of a family home. The breakfast items and toiletries provided were also much appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Frances and Gerry were absolutely wonderful hosts who left us with very thoughtful amenities like towels, breakfast and tea things. We really appreciated it and it made it feel like home for us. Communication was speedy and clear, and the decor of the house was gorgeous, cosy and comfortable at the same time. Great neighbourhood with plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars. Very grateful for our time in Glasgow with Frances and Gerry! (:

Anyone interested in staying at this property they should jump at the chance. Francis made sure to meet us when we arrived and made it an easy check in. Francis and family are very warm and approachable. After check in going for a stroll in the area we were pleased to discover all the very good pubs and high end restaurants literally around the corner. Also short walk to University of Glasgow and numerous museums. Can't say enough about Francis' property a real find.
