The myth of Fetonte
One of the great legends about the village of Crespino is that linked to Fetonte, a figure of Greek mythology, depicted in the gonfalone of the Commune.

Legend has it that young Fetonte falls right in the vicinity of Crespino, a few kilometers from the beginning of the Po Delta. Fetonte, son of Elio and Climene nymph, was offended by Epafo, who claimed that the young man was not a son of the Sun. He prayed in tears for the insult immediately, begged Climene's mother to prove his paternity and value, allowing him to drive the solar car for once. The mother asked the Sun if the young son could drive the wagon for only once, and his father satisfied him, warning him of the great difficulty in bringing the majestic horses. Fetonte, craving to prove his worth, jumped on the chariot and without listening to his father began his flight. The horses faded and approached the Earth's sphere, causing disasters, fires and drought. To avoid the destruction of the earth, the young Fetonte stopped and to do that, Father of Gods, hurled a sack, catapulting the young God into the Po. Immediately the Eliad sisters came to the conclusion that desperate for the incident began to weep. Zeus, sorry, decided to stop their pain by turning them into poplars, and their tears in amber.y

Hi! I'm Elisa! I spent many years living in the Caribbean, where I met my beautiful Venezuelan husband Alejandro and had with him two gorgeous kids, Sofia and Sebastiàn. We then decided to stay and live in Italy in my hometown enjoying family and friends and let people, from all over the world, know all the amazing attractions and the pulsing nature of the northeast of Italy. We are sharing my huge and old (19th century) and recently renovated family house with those who want to discover and fall in love with this part of Italy. We next to the house so we will be glad to help you and give you any advice you might need or simply have a chat with you! :) We also love to travel all around the world and meet different cultures and interesting people.
