Frenchtown Country Inn is a perfect place for large families, groups and retreats. We have up to 5 private rooms available, two with private baths, and 3 share 1 one bath room.
Overlooking a seven acre lake on 100 acres, Frenchtown Inn offers a refuge from the busy urban lifestyle.
There are five bedrooms, which can be rented individually. You can also rent the whole house for retreats and events. However, such arrangements would need to be separately negotiated. Please contact us.
Opening onto the lake are two spacious rooms with sliding glass doors opening onto a shred patio area each with a private bath. A third room, with a view of the Missionary style barn complete with bell, also opens up onto a private patio shared bath. There are two additional rooms. All rooms are quiet and comfortable. There is a library area for relaxing reading. In the oversized living room you will may find beautiful flower arrangements from the garden gracing the Grand Table and bar. Immediate adjacent is the breakfast area and kitchen with all the conveniences you would want.
The house overlooks an expansive lawn area giving way to pastoral five acre lake, with three small islands. There is a path all the way around the lake, but watch out, this is truly a wilderness area. The one acre fenced organic garden grows flowers and vegetables, planted and tended to by Angelina.
At the top of the high hill is a tank storage system. Please do not climb the latter next to the tank. Starting from the entrance, the irrigation canal runs several hundred feet until it veers inward and ends at a small dam.
Beyond that, is the cottage where our caretaker couple, Aaron and Cara live. At any given place, you may come across portable white electrified fencing being used to confine the sheep. Please do not touch or try to cross over the fence.
Interaction with guests
Rafael lives in the back part of the house. He is available to make breakfast, including yummy locally made treats, and any other concierge type of services you might be in need of. Please do not hesitate to ask him. If you are lucky, you may get to meet me, the owner. I will be happy to tell you all about the history of the place.
Other things to note
Please remember this is a rural area. Wild animals, such as bears, mountain lions, and rattlesnakes inhabit the area. Such encounters are rare however. There is an abundance of Poison Oak. There may be other hazards such as rotting trees, uncovered holes, electrified fences, and the like. Please be careful.
Swimming in the Lake
There is no warranty as to the safety of swimming in the lake. The lake water may contain pathogens, bacteria, and unseen obstacles that could cause grievous bodily harm. A small battery powered skiff is available for boating on the lake. Lifejackets will be provided and must be worn at all times. Fishing may be allowed with a Frenchtown Inn issued "Fishing License". Please see the Front Desk for further information.
T-mobil and a few other urban carries have no reception here. Pets are not allowed. Three of the bedrooms will be sharing a bath and, at any given time you may be sharing the main living space with other guests. This can be a wonderful way to meet new and interesting people.
