Location Location Location!This 2nd floor self contained,fully equipped apartment is a little gem.Merchant Quarters is a grade II listed building,former Ironmongers shop & residence,that was lovingly restored 10years ago,The prominent town center location is the perfect place to enjoy the 800 year old market town and the Peak District.The apartment is cute,bright and offers a delightful space A really comfy double bed for couples or good friends!and a sofa bed is great for a 2nd or 3rd person.

The space

Shepherds View is a one bedroom self catering apartment on the second floor of a town center building. There are two retail shops on the ground floor and 6 apartments over the two floors above.
Minimum 1 night stay. Tourist, weddings, Alton Towers Visitors, Visiting family, friends, business - all guests welcome.

Sheep Market is one of the central streets of the town centre, which provides a street café culture and boutique shops. Along with a pubs and an Italian restaurant.

The apartment has a shower room with underfloor heating, a hall, double bedroom and a kitchen/lounge. Towels (1 hand 1 bath) are provided per guested, along with shower gel, shampoo & condition) The bedroom has a comfy double bed, with bedsides, lamps, a mirror, hairdryer and a hanging rack for clothes - who ever unpacks fully?! There is a skylight in addition to the window, which doesn't have a blind fixed - so if you don't like the sun light waking you early grab the eye mask from the bedside.
There is a shoe rack & bench in the hall along with coat hooks.
The lounge & kitchen are one room. The kitchen is equipped to be able to cook a full English or just make a cuppa. There is usually English breakfast tea and green tea in the drawer, along with sugar - help yourself. The fridge has a small freezer compartment - perfect for the G&T ice! The washer is also a dryer.
The smart TV has Freeview channels and there is Wi-Fi too. The sofa is easily converted to a bed and is 7ft long, so can accommodate grown up people too. The small table is fine to dine at, sitting up to 4 people. Also great to work from with your laptop. There is a nest of 2 oak side tables, please make sure you use the coasters for drinks.
Access to the apartment is key coded - from the main entrance on the street and also the internal front door. Codes will be provided on the day of arrival just before check in time.

Just 12 miles to Alton Towers
Only 5 miles to the Peak District
A short taxi ride to well know wedding venues such as the Ashes & Heaton House
Totally Locally market is held 1st Sunday of the month - with stalls on the same street!

Guest access

The entire apartment, via a courtyard and communal staircase. 2nd floor apartment.

Interaction with guests

I am always at the end of the phone/email. But I have a host assistant - Cally, my big sister, locally to assist with any issues.

Other things to note

Car Parking - there are 4 pay and display car parks within 1 min walk of the apartment. Maximum parking is 3 hours on the St Edward St and Market Place ones and costs less than £2. The High St car parks are longer stay and cost less than £3. The charges are only applied between the hours of 09:30-15:30 Monday- Saturday. FREE Sundays and after 15:30 until 09:30 in the morning. On street parking is restricted on St Edwards and High St to just 30mins. But unrestricted on Strangeman St, Britannia St, Gladstone St if you can find a spot.
Please note: the Market Place (square) holds a weekly antiques market so is closed for parking from Friday evening until Saturday evening.
Always double check the street signage for any event or car parking restrictions as they can change from time to time and I'd hate for any unwanted parking fines.

Potential for noise - In the town centre - pubs/resturants/shops. Weekend evenings can be busier in town. Day time town centre buzz - low level.
No parking on property - On a semi pedestrianised street, set down for unloading allowed.Many car parks within 1 minute walk - pay & display
Amenity limitations - No Wifi until 14th September. Hot water on a timer - to suit.

Couldn't have asked for a better host, apartment or location. Situated in the centre of Leek, you're in an easy walking distance of many local amenities and interesting shops. Victoria couldn't have been more helpful or organised with making sure we checked in okay. Highly recommend!

Best place I've stayed. The apartment is lovely, new, immaculate and clean with a great view. The communication with Victoria was easy. Everything we needed and more was provided. It is right in the centre and parking is close and free except between 9.30am-3.30pm (and then it is not expensive). I highly recommend this place (unless stairs are a problem for you)
