Newly refurbished this beautiful cotswold stone detached cottage offers a wonderful quiet retreat, surrounded by beautiful countryside, whilst offering nearby gastro pubs (walking distance) and fantastic walks on the Heart of England Way. (Guides supplied). The village is regularly featured in the BBC's series 'Father Brown'. Well behaved dogs very welcome.
This romantic hideaway is easily reached by car (private parking immediately outside cottage); train (from Paddington to Moreton) or bus.

The space
The cottage is all on level ground with no steps. Small and perfectly formed with quality fixtures and furnishings throughout and tasteful decor.
Warm and cosy sitting room, fitted kitchen with dishwasher, bathroom and bedroom with king size bed.

Guest access
The gorgeous courtyard garden is a sun trap with pretty herbaceous borders. There is a table and chairs (sun beds can be provided) and a chiminea for those cooler evenings. There is a remote controlled vehicle turntable in the courtyard for guests use. The turntable will accommodate most vehicles to include estate cars and small vans. Should your vehicle be too long, it can always be reversed into the courtyard and parked.

Other things to note
Blockley was a main centre of the Silk Industry in the 18th and 19th centuries with the silk mills using the waters of the brook which runs through the centre of the village. This charming village remains unspoilt, lined with its golden stone houses and nestled in the valley between Chipping Campden and Moreton in Marsh.
The village, with its Norman church and Vicarage is regularly featured in the BBC's drama series 'Father Brown'. You may be lucky enough to catch some filming during your stay.
Blockley has its own village shop stocking an array of fresh meat, produce, bakery and store cupboard essentials as well as a Cafe serving delicious food all day from Breakfast to afternoon tea and dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings (bookings essential!).
Local attractions include: Broadway, Hidcote Lavender Farm, Stratford upon Avon, Sezincote House and Garden, Batsford Arboretum, Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Longborough Festival Opera, Burford Wildlife Park, Chedworth Roman Villa and Cheltenham Races amongst others.

Blockley is an award winning cotswold village, with its golden cotswold stone period houses typical of the area. Due to its many waterways, it was the centre of the silk industry in the 18th and 19th century. It has two pubs within walking distance of the cottage, both of which offer excellent food and local ales. There are also many gastro pubs within 2-3 miles of the cottage. The chef (ex Soho Farmhouse) in our very popular village cafe offers a delicious menu from breakfasts to dinners and the village shop stocks fresh bread, produce and everything in between!
